Despite the letter mentioning access for their vehicle, I think the problem is that you are parking on the pavement, thus blocking it for the passage of wheelie bins. Ryan, it looks a nice estate, don't you think that parking on the pavement is a bit chavvy? Don't you think that mums with pushchairs and prams have at least as much right to use the pavement - as you do to use the road? Or should the developers have just saved the money, leaving a muddy verge and having everyone form mums with prams to boy racers just use the road?

Doubt he will ever post on here again after you lot pile into him.

I'd just ignore the councils letter, there's plenty of room for everybody.

You shouldn't be parking on the pavement. The letter from the council is polite; they are only asking you to move your car once a week (or fortnight). Move your car to a legal parking space and be more considerate for your neighbours, pedestrians and large vehicles. A fire engine in an emergency isn't going to stop and arrange for you to get a polite letter if they can't get past your car without risking damaging it.

I agree - it is in our lease that people should park in allocated spaces only. However tenants of some of the rented properties seem to think they can park anywhere. A few weeks ago a fire engine tried to gain access to the street, and could not because of the way that the cars were parked. Thankfully the fire was under control before they got there, but it could have been a great deal more serious.
    Gone ... or have I?

I worked for the fire service for a short while a couple of years ago, there'd be a report almost every day of pumps being held up by inconsiderate parking.

Pile into him? Provide him with sensible thoughts perhaps

Be shame if one inconsiderate individual screwed up refuse collection for the rest. I suppose you would be happy if the OP lived near you and caused you refuse never to be uplifted.

His parking doesn't actually look that bad, however technically he is illegally parked as his vehicle is partly on the path which it shouldn't be (paths are for pedestrians!). Since the letter from the council was polite then my advise is to do as it says. After-all, if they wanted they could have been nasty and slapped you with a ticket instead!

So the dustcart needs to drive on the pavement??

:rotfl: Nooooo his mum and dad have their car on the driveway but if they shoved up a bit his little Polo could fit on.

Parking on the pavement is not illegal in most areas of the country.

I'm assuming (and I've not looked at the photos) that moneysavingnovice has estalblished that the OP is in London?

Hmmm, when cars are parked too closely together or too close to a wall etc and a binman scrapes your car with a bin, would you be happy? no.

Perfectly reasonably for them to ask to considerate parking.
