I was considering the Phones4U Escape Card it is £4.99: UK and Abroad transactions free of charge but they charge 99p for ATM UK withdrawal and £2 abroad.
You can get one over the counter and its free to load up instore or bank transfer. Has anyone had difficulties using one for Ryan Air flights, it is Mastercard?SallyD0 -

I opened a Travel Money Card with the PO yesterday but didn't realise you had to pay to use it. Oh well will just have to pay for my holiday with my debit card and pay the charge of £9+.If I had known then what I know now . . .

I've tried to sign up for a few of them accounts, I am moving to America for a year in a few weeks to study there. I'll be receiving my student loan at different times in the year so need to find the cheapest way to get my £ into $'s0

Opened an account with Netteler during the weekend.
Received the card today.
No difficulties activating the card.
Topped up 45 pounds charged 1,75% - 79p.
Booked a return flight to Dublin and one way flight to Dublin from Ryanair with no fees. Saved 14 pounds.0 -
Thanks all - lots to try to avoid the £10 charge on a £30 Ryanair flight!
I hope to get a referral to the Net+ card as that sounds like the best deal, then if not will try FairFx through that link...0
