    a) blue badges only mean something to a ppc when they can screw money out of either the holder or anyone else.
    b) don't throw the paperwork away, file it you can bring it out at parties and Christmas to show friends just what a laughable lot they are.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • I received two PCN's from Parking Eye last week for parking in an Aldi car park (the black checkered border looked horribly official through the window envelope).

No you didn't, you received two invoices. PCNs are issued by councils.

I was about to pay both of these when I saw all the forums on line so decided to read first and pay later. This has obviously been discussed to death but forgive me for being newbie (and frankly feeling like a rabbit in the headlights with all there is to read about this) but the fact is I did park there, I paid for an hour and I stayed for 8 hours 58 mins, not once but twice and they have photographic evidence of my number plate to prove it.

A photograph of a number plate proves nothing.

I was told by a friend that I was a mug for parking all day whilst we worked in a shop, she did so for free in Aldi (she never mentioned parking fines...)

As they are not fines why should she?

If I had done this once I might feel brave to brazen it out but twice is just platent - isn't it???

I feel sick about the fact I might be the one they choose to take this further with and actually go down the road the whole way....

More chance of hell freezing over. Parking Eye never go anywhere near a court. I have a drawer full of invoices from them and have never had a sniff of a court claim.

Don't worry, don't contact them and above all DON'T PAY!

Yeah, it's blatant but TBH who cares when they run their profiteering industry the way they do?

If you are genuine you'll agree with me, who cares, bin the rubbishy ticket and letters! :D

If you are a PPC plant you'll be annoyed that I sussed you. :p:p And if you come back to say they've taken you to Court then we will know which side of the fence you're on, because in the real world that doesn't happen, PE don't do Court and would lose of course, if they ever dared.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Another newb here. We received a letter from Parking Eye (having stayed in a supermarket car park for well over the 2 hours "allowed"). Having looked & read a bit online, it looks like we can just ignore it, but I'd feel more comfortable if someone could put my mind at ease...most of the stories I've read are of parking a few minutes longer, rather than the few hours ours was.

Can I safely start a new folder in my filing cabinet for the expected flow of letters?
  • Oh, and also, if they have pictures showing who was driving the car - does that mean we should really pay? Or is it still a case of ignoring.

And apologies for asking what has probably been asked a gazzilion times already!! ;)

Just ignore, pictures or not, it doesn't matter.

Yes, I had two letters again yesterday. One telling me that the landlords had rejected my appeal (I was giving blood with two friends and had run over the time slot in th car park), even though they had confirmation of where I was and another letter saying I had to pay £80 by the 27th or balffs would come and I would have a CCJ against me. The letters are scary it played on my mind last night - b******ds !

I have found out the landlord of the site and even contemplated last night whether to ring them this morning !! Oooo it makes me angry !!

Gingy, you will know by now that the letters are false and there is no chance of bailiffs calling and you getting a ccj. Its all there to worry you into paying. When you realise just how toothless they are then you can file the letters away and just ignore them. Don't waste stamp, time or ire contacting them, it'll just raise your blood pressure and they "ain't" worth it.

I believe you are reading that letter incorrectly as it it actually said that you have grounds for a court case against them. Banish panic and reread that letter carefully. Better yet post up the exact text of it minus your personal details of course. The operative word is 'exact'.

exact wording is as follows ' if this letter is ignored, we will have no option other than to instruct our debt collectin agency, to secure immediate payment, commencing court proceedings, through our solicitors, if required. Therefore, to avoid future and unnecessary action, please pay the outstanding Parking Charge at the final reduced amount (£80), for what was a clear contravention of the parking regulations.

The consequences of not paying and subsequent legal proceedings are that you could receive a CCJ and if you ignore that a baliff will attend your address to remove goods.
