Depending on what type it is, it should be fine for 2 - 3 days, but you could portion it up and freeze it xx

Jayward, hope you are ok hun, and well done to your ds thats brilliant :Tyou must be very proud xx

probably another 2 days if it's in the fridge, depending on what vey in is it. soup with turnip or swede or onion in will turn quicker than other soups. If it's your lentil from today it will start to smell really sweet when its turning. :)

    Evening everyone

Am so tired tonight, had a really busy day at work. I have been trying to contact the lady who sorts out the Hall where we are getting married to ask some final questions due to the wedding being in 2 weeks time, sent an email last friday and have left 2 phone messages this week and still no reply. I get really fed up with bad customer service:mad:. I will try again tomorrow as today I was
told she was at her desk but her direct line still linked through to ansaphone.

Made a Thai chicken curry in slow cooker today so had some for tea with rice, it was lovely. I am trying to run my freezer down before the wedding, and save some money. I am still not sure what to do about all my furniture, fridge freezer and washing machine as we have 2 of everything and there is no point moving mine over 200 miles. Thought about ebay, but would have to wait until after the honeymoon or a house clearence company but would I have to pay them to take it away. Decisions, decisions.

Spoke to my friend today re her making her mind up on whether she was coming on her own or with partner. Her partner still can't make a commitment as he may get a gig in the next two weeks and I refuse to pay for a meal and he may/may not turn up. She asked about bringing her teenage son but I said no, as there are only family children only at the wedding, so she is now coming on her own to the day do and possibly partner at night.

Jayward - sending positive vibes, well done to your ds.
N9eav - hope today went ok
JackieG - I too would be angry, hope you get them sorted out.
NPM - Hope your headaches ease off. Nice to see you posting.
Bitsy - I too worry about what will happen to my ds2 as he gets older. He is due to go to high school next year but has literacy levels of Y1.
esmf73 - Hope your move goes well.
Beemuzed - Hope your ds is ok and that he manages to find work. Your kitchen sounds wonderful, no advise where to put anything though.

Well need to get more organised, well try at least. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Take Care.

    School's Out!

Just a quickie as I am just packing for a few days in Dusseldorf with the girls. Quite excited now. Went to a retirement meal last night and can honestly say it was the best evening I have had for ages, just chat, laughter, memories, great company and good food.

JackieG stay strong and get some advice from your union rep, N9eav - hope things went as well as they could and congrats to Jaywards DS.

Will catch up with you next week, take care all.

    Evening all,

Meant to rain here to-day but we have had a lovely day...very windy but I managed to get 3 machine loads of clothes washed and dried, feel happy about that. We also had the first of our new potatoes for dinner and they were absolutely wonderful, nothing like a nice fresh steamed spud with lots of butter on it!

Jackieg...how awful...definitely take your union rep with you and take no carp.

Jayward....sorry to hear that the medicos can't make up their minds which treatment is right for you, hope that you will make son's graduation.

Spent some time in the garden to-day, got about half a pound of raspberries and strawberries, will have them for breakfast, did some much needed weeding, more to be done, OH sowed some more beetroot, carrots and swedes...was very hot in spite of the wind. Made my gooseberry jam when I came in, just about 5 lbs, we don't eat much jam so that will do fine, still rhubarb and ginger and some apple jelly to come so we have a little variety. There are more redcurrants and some blackcurrants too so they will go in freezer for emergency supplies.

Had an excited phone call from DGD1 who is five, to tell me that she is going to a summer camp in Cork when she comes to Ireland (in 18 sleeps) with her cousin who lives in Cork and is just 4 days younger than her...she will drive her poor parents nuts in the meantime as she is so excitable, she was tripping over herself trying to get all the news out at once, love these phone calls, only trouble is that she can get through to me without any help now, hope that there are no huge bills for DD2!

Nothing much happening here, just need to do a quick swipe around the unused rooms so that they are ready for all my Summer visitors....if I do it too soon will need to do it again in a couple of weeks!

Hugs to all in need or want, especially those MIA
