Jackie, don't forget to take someone with you if they have given you that option, and see if you can get a report from your GP to support the fact that you have actually been ill and not just swinging the lead. Have a dodgy hug to help you feel better :grouphug:0 -
((HUGS)) Jackie - that seems so unfair. I'm sure you should have the option of having someone with you. Makes you realise just how uncaring some firms really are these days. Hope it all goes well anyway.Resolution:

Morning all
Not managing to get on here much at the mo:o
I seem to have so much to do everyday. Just finished another batch of strawberry jam....DS gets through loads of it and I make enough each summer to last the year.
I promised him I would make some choc buns which I will do in a moment, need to make a big cake for the tin also. Am making chicken pie for DS tea and a caramelised onion tart for OH and I. Just had delivery from abel and cole , my first one as i thought i would give them a try, the fruit and veg looks very good but I dont feel like I have enough for the week and it was £15.95.....eg got 2 onions, that is not going to last us the week:cool:.
Am not coping well in this heat as it has set my hayfever off and my headaches:(...was up at 4am today as couldnt sleep then DS got up anyway.
DS has gone back to school after his op.....he is a bit stressed at the mo as school coming to a close for summer and not following usual school routine. I am about to start on the planning for each day of the hols to get it all plotted out;)
Bitsy these groups are hard going sometimes:o. Some parents like them some don`t bother, just go with your instincts. I for one could not cope without the mutual support my group of "autism parents" give each other. I do try not to look too far ahead as it is very depressing and you cant predict it anyway.
JackieG hugs to you....you seem to be going through a tough time hon. I too would take someone with you....I dont know what job you do but have yo a union or anything? In the NHS we get disciplined if we are off sick:o I have a warning on my file for 6 months after my headache saga last year as I was off 7 weeks. I have not had a day off sick since Sept last year but had to take unpaid leave this week for DS and you can bet your life I will get hassle:(
well better go and sort this baking out

Yesterday at work, I received a letter inviting me for a disciplinary review as I had not been carrying out direct instructions! Whilst I have been not very well, and in pain, I have struggled to do my job to the best of my ability, and have been struggling to sell. A lot of the time, I found I was staring into space, or let things run away from me, before I knew what I was doing, and hadn't promoted to the customers. As they have had to analyse my calls and I had only promoted on 50%, they have decided this is now a disciplinary offence. I am raging mad about it, and gave my manager what-for yesterday. I think she is sympathetic, but she plays her cards close to her chest. Another manager will take the investigation, and make the desicion, and I am prepared to fight my corner, after all, I made the effort, at my own considerable expense, to get there and not sit in the house taking money for nothing, and I have never had so much as a telling off in the ten years I have worked there. She said, oh it only stays on your record for six months if it gets to the warning stage, but I don't even want that for as much as five minutes. I just hope that the other woman is sympathetic and doesn't expect people to be robots. Rant/moan over, it has really upset me.
If you are unwell and working - you are doing the job to the best of your ability and you must remember that" If your abilities have changed that may mean you have a substantial (which is not the same as severe btw) long term impairment and you are covered by the DDA - Disability Discrimination Act which basically ensures your company has to do its best for you - things like less hours, less onerous duties etc. perhaps your targets could be amended temporarily.
Best of luck0 -
Nice to see you here, NPM.
I will be speaking to the union rep tomorrow, and dragging him along, he has been a good support in the past, but sometimes I think he tries to hard to please the management. I'm sure he'll be onside though. And they know how bad I've been, there have been times I have been sitting there in tears from the pain. I am not worried as such, more annoyed! I've been making lots of notes, and will betaking that with me to stop myself from losing the plot. Thanks, girls.

N9eav, I hope all goes well today.
Its raining!!!! I never been so glad to see rain......and of course I watered the garden last night, I could not rely on our fickle weather.
Been to Mr T's this morning managed to spend enough to get a 5p discount off fuel. They had a large leg of pork reduced which has gone in the freezer, Nest trip will be to Aldi next week for the stuff I get from there.
OH supposed to be playing bowls this afternoon, wonder if it will be put off due to rain???? I have to put the back on a cushion this afternoon, then I can wash the cover.
Nothing much else going on round here, they have started to harvest the hay, two loads in last night, guess K saw the forecast. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Jackie - am fuming on your behalf
Definately take some representation in with you. Hugs xx
NPM - Hugs to you - sorry to see your headaches are back xx Hope work don't give you too much grief
thanks for letting me ramble on here about my DS. No point worrying about what might or might not be is there. Pointless waste of time and energy and only makes me feel worse
It was good to see this lad's presentation - in front of 50 people that's not something even I'd want to do. It's given me perhaps an inkling to how DS works and that can only be a good thing
Right better get lunch made. Cheese on toast anyone?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Jackieglasgow - that's so awful for you, how dare they!
Well I did get my nan a couple of scratchcards for in her birthday card in the end, posted it this morning. Only thing is, I ACCIDENTALLY (I swear it was accidentally) asked for one of the cards that for some reason had pigs on it. My nan hates pigs, she has this strange old-fashioned superstition type thing about them, won't even say the word pig. So I'm probably going to get an outraged phone call next week
.
Have an unexpected chocolate cake with cream on now, couple of the boys offered it when they came back from the high street. They've probably done something to it but oh well!0 -
