Good Morning All
N9eav (((hugs))) for today! Funeral's aren't the best places/services to attend, but I do hope it goes well.
Beemuzed - It took me a while to get organised in the kitchen. You will put things where you think they should go, but after a while, you will adapt your own easy way/method. Think about the things you use the most and put within easy reach of each other. All your cooking untensils/pans etc near the cooking area, etc...
Im really tired today, but I guess the womans things doesnt help, especially in this heat!
DS is having some major issue's again at school. 3 boys constantly ringing him with abuse last night. So we got the neighbours referee whistle and blew it down the phone. He didn't want to go to school today, but went in the end. I rung the head at 8am this morning, and in their true style, Im still waiting for a call. They are 14/15yr olds, I would hope they would have outgrown this behaviour by now!
Trying to sort out "our wedding songs" last night. We know what we're having for the "wedding dance", but unsure of which to choose from 2 for when I enter the church! So far its between, Celine Dion - Because You Loved me and DJ Sammy slow version of Heaven.
Anyway, best get a wriggle on and get ready for work
Have a great day! xxHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Am so excited at the prospect of the kitchen being finished by tonight! In the end I didn't start putting things back as some cupboards had to be left empty for various finishing off reasons - and then I decided I really need to rethink where I keep things in relation to eg the sink, cooker and dishwasher. Need to find the most efficient plan. Any helpful advice out there please???....
What we found the best plan was to put things where we "thought" they'd be most handy but then let them find their own "best" place, IYKWIM! i.e. the stainless utensils are all on the wall, either sied of the hob while the wooden ones are in the pot on the worktop, pans are up & to the right of the hob, less-well used ones are on the display shelves opposite the hob. Crockery is under the worktop we use for serving up, the prep worktop is over the veg drawer & fridge.0 -
Morning All
I hope that everyone is keeping well
Looks like we are set for another hot day here again
Not much today just shopping and a little washing then I might sort DH's Shed out a bit - He just throws stuff in willynilly and you can't get in the shed let alone find anything
N9eav........ I hope things go as well as they can today x
Redruby ..........it takes at least three days for your body to go into ketosis, when that happens your body will start burning off its fat stores x
EssexGirl........ We used to have our house insurance with the Halifax but changed last year to Aviva with a massive saving of £450  They got narked about it but as long as you name them on the policy they can't stop you moving there is another plus in the fact that the crafty beggers used to put our insurance on top of our mortgage so we were paying extra on our mortgage plus interest
I am really glad we changed.
Oh well off to get ready for when DH comes in TTFN and I will pop back laters. (((((((((Hugs )))))))))))to all in need of one especially to Diva, Sunnygirl, Sunnyday, NPM, Ladygrim, Penpin and cranky xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hola! everyone
Enjoying the sun, and the pool.
Keeping in touch with Jayward who is still in hospital. They are trying to decide what to do, she will see the consultant again today, yesterday they were suggesting a liquid diet for a while, then an op, and then changing their minds, which they keep doing to her and frustrating her greatly. Her good news of yesterday is her son passed his degree with a FIRST so that is great. Still hoping she can ge to the graduation in 13 days. Prayers, vibes and hopes please.
Still doing the LC diet, finding it hard reading labels in Spanish, some do some don't some do them another way, YKWIM. Enjoyed the tennis at Wimbledon yesterday, though a shame Federer was out, hoping for a Murray, Djokovic final, would be good, but first Murray has to beat NADAL!! and Djokovic the guy who took out Federer!
DS emailed yesterday to say the rep had contacted them and they were now flying home a day later, but their hotel would be provided FOC for the extra night. He always has been jammy!
Take care the ((hugs)) to those missing or not 100% - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning.,
Yet another busy day for me - helping out at school this afternoon and there all day tomorrow. My poor mum is going to sick of DD at this rate
Support meeting was good last night. They had a young lad doing a presentation who has Aspergers and he was really good. On the other hand hearing about how he couldn't cope with making friends etc was a bit um depressing, likewise a 38 year old son of one of the attendees can't get a job still but trying not to focus on that aspect too much. Don't know how DS is going to develop as he gets older so will have to hope for the best
Baked fish and courgettes for tea. Not much OS going on seeing as how I am not going to be in this afternoon.
Topsy - ooooh enjoy your forthcoming wedding
N9eav - hope things go well today xx
Sorry if I've missed anyone really have to dash. Hugs to those who need one or are MIA. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Focus on the positives from it Bitsy, the way things are done may well change while your DS is growing & developing. Certainly there is more openess & awareness now than when that 38 year old was your DS's age. :grouphug: because you deserve it

Bitsy - I'd like to second what Floss has said. believe me, there have been huge developments in awareness and attitudes over the past years - and I'm sure this will continue positively. When I began teaching in 1970 I'd heard nothing at all about aspergers - and I guess I stayed ignorant until about 15 years ago. Today it's "common" so more and more people are becoming aware of it. And no, I don't mean by that that the issue wasn't around - just that teachers (and probably other professionals too) just didn't receive training or advice and had little idea of how best to respond. You are doing so well with your DS and I'm sure that will continue. The poor 38yr old was probably just treated as a "problem child" with very little positive thought or support when he was in primary school.Resolution:

Morning all, I am just up!
Can't remember the last time I slept this long mid-week. Luckily DS1 got up just before me and DS2 is still sleeping! I think gran must have exhausted them yesterday, and the digging was my downfall.
Hugs and good wishes for Jayward, and congrats to her DS, that's fantastic news.
I hope the news on the babies and their mum is positive Tappers, holes in the heart are more common and more likely to repair themselves in preemies, so hopefully they will do fine.
I hope everything goes well today Nea9v.
Beemuzed, the only hint I have is that all my herbs and spices are in a drawer right next to the hob, that has saved so much rummaging!
Well, my house and garden are a tip, I don't know how this happened, it seems to have snuck up on me, I thought I was doing well:( So I will be busy busy busy today.
Yesterday at work, I received a letter inviting me for a disciplinary review as I had not been carrying out direct instructions! Whilst I have been not very well, and in pain, I have struggled to do my job to the best of my ability, and have been struggling to sell. A lot of the time, I found I was staring into space, or let things run away from me, before I knew what I was doing, and hadn't promoted to the customers. As they have had to analyse my calls and I had only promoted on 50%, they have decided this is now a disciplinary offence. I am raging mad about it, and gave my manager what-for yesterday. I think she is sympathetic, but she plays her cards close to her chest. Another manager will take the investigation, and make the desicion, and I am prepared to fight my corner, after all, I made the effort, at my own considerable expense, to get there and not sit in the house taking money for nothing, and I have never had so much as a telling off in the ten years I have worked there. She said, oh it only stays on your record for six months if it gets to the warning stage, but I don't even want that for as much as five minutes. I just hope that the other woman is sympathetic and doesn't expect people to be robots. Rant/moan over, it has really upset me.
Hope everyone is well, and you all have good days.

Oops, I also wanted to send hugs to Bitsy. TBH Bitsy I avoid these things as I have enough knowledge at the moment about people with Asperger's and I don't want to categorise my boy in any way. There is a young man in my office whom I am convinced has Asperger's, he has recently become a father, and is very efficient at his job. He is a bit loud and annoying, and sometimes I find it hard to make allowances for him (we haven't been officially told if he is or not, and I suspect he doesn't actually know himself either, possibly not diagnosed), but also think that's better for him. I want my boy to have a good, happy, well balanced life, and am hoping thatif we treat him as a person, rather than a person with Asperger's, he will learn to find his place in the world, and work round his difficulties. I hope that makes sense? All these stats about job prospects, and teenage suicide and so on terrify me, but I don't want to think of it in those terms, he is just like any other child and has his own difficulties.
