I have a few questions regarding the money I receive from Avon. Do I need to declare it to the taxman? And if so, how do I go about doing this?
Thanks!
Hi Lauralou and welcome!
Well done on your first order! My first order was a big fat £0! :rotfl: my second was only £35, so you have done well!
If you read the first post on the first page, this gives you information about registering as self employed, contact numbers, etc.0 -
however that person would have to register as self employed and all your "earnings" would be classed as theirs and they would be taxed appropriately and if either of you needed to declare earnings ever say for tax credits or arranging a mortgage this person would be the one "earning" and you would not be!!
So please remember that!
Yes, I would say rather than going down the route of signing a family member to get you an SL and more territory, you should find out who your DSM is and email them.
You have to leave for 8 weeks, to rejoin Avon under an SL.
I have found that by signing my DH originally to get the 5th person in my team has been more of a headache for us than a benefit!
He is already registered self employed so I just had to declare his non existent income from Avon with his usual self employment earnings...:rotfl: but he has received calls from Avon and our ASM, and he was frankly getting very cheesed off with it, so wouldn't recommend this route...0 -

Thanks, J. Know diddly squat about benefits and never occurred to me that people would (or even could) get a mortgage based on their Avon earnings..... but really good to know that good 'all round' advice is available on here as well as my 'simplified view'.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I signed my OH to my team too and whenever Avon ring for him I just say as his SL I'll take the call. Never had a problem with that yet. Maybe you should try it i.e. rather than aggravate him by passing the call across?:cool:Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hi ladies,
I haven't been on for a while as I've been away on holiday however, I'm back now and need to get my bottom into gear with my Avon!!
A have a returns question, a customer purchased the solutions eye cream last campaign (which my dad delivered for me bless him) but having used it for a few weeks now she hasn't noticed any results and has asked me to suggest a stronger alternative. Ok, so that's all enough as I've given her a sample of the 'Anew' eye gel / cream that I think is £11 in c12 and suggested she tried this one instead.
Sorry I digress!! So can I send the solutions eye cream back and get a refund for this lady or not?? As I've not had to send a 'used' product back before I'm not sure what the rules are, can you help please??
Thanks in advance for any help.
No probs, just apply for credit (or replacement for the product you sold her..... would be interesting to know how Avon deal with ordering a more expensive replacemnet....). There's a code for 'customer doesn't like for some other reason' or something like that.
The solutions eye cream is a very light version; can't see I've noticed any differences either. Suggest she try the Clinical Eye Lift - give her 2 weeks to try it and then either buy or return it. (She should be impressed.) Provided you get your timings right she'll either pay for it or return it before you need to pay your o/s balance.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

yeah it actually says in book 13 on the promotion page "missed out? dont panic! talk to your representative about ordering from book 12"
so just back order one using the drop down boxes when entering it and it should be fine.0 -

Hahah, I stupidly put his mobile number and never thought to put house phone!
Have now just removed his number and put 0 in there.0 -
Thanks lozza for your help.... she is a 'mature' lady so I think she is looking for something fairly strong hence the reason I suggested Anew. I just wasn't sure if I could send the solutions one back, thanks for helping me out on that one.
How did it go today, I have been thinking about you.
No problem. It went ok thanks, didn't know most of the people there - my grandparents had a lot of kids & adopted some...but most of them haven't been near in years, and I can see why my Dad didn't make an effort to keep in touch with them, one of my uncles turned up in jeans and a scruffy polo top, not even vaguely smart. Nice that he came, but would have been nice if people had made a bit of an effort to show some respect. Hardest bit was seeing my Dad upset, as I've never seen him upset before, but they're going on holiday today so should do him good.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
