I may be wrong but my understanding is that its not a full credit check, they only check to see if you or anyone at your household owes money to avon from previously being a rep etc.
I had read that if there are queries over credit results they ask that you pay the balance of your order before they post it to you then the next order and ones after are processed as usual so you shouldnt have a problem.
Maybe someone more experienced has more info for you0 -

No, ASMs cover geographical areas, but SLs can go anywhere (though in practice not too far as they have to support the Reps they sign up) and are not geographically restricted. An SL is still a Rep though, you can't just be a SL.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. some people have been refused apparently - but I've signed up people with CCJs and they were given an account ok, as did my MIL so doesn't have a proper bank card, can't even get a sim only contract as her credit rating is so bad.
So I wouldn't worry - ask to know what your credit limit (they'll know when your account is loaded) - make sure you do not go over that on your first campaign, after that first campaign it will increase each time so don't worry. The lowest a credit limit is is usually £200, max is £500. How on earth they work it out I don't know - but its the amount you owe avon, so even if you have a limit of £200 you can put £260 through ok.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Where would someone apply for some more info RE the self employed SL positions??? I like the basis of NWM I need to be sure that what I sell is ethical & achievable.
I dont do BS!!!
Thanks again :T
John
Probably the most honest info you'll get is on here - if you google it you'll probably find the "get a free car / holiday" etc stuff that avon promotes. Which yes, you can get a free car / holiday as a sales leader - but only really the top people achieve that, and it would be difficult to get to those levels now unless you were very lucky.
A SL, as !!!!!! mentioned, isn't restricted geographically. ASMs are, they have a specific area they are in charge of, they are there to (in theory) keep overall control of territory, sorting out problems, as well as signing up reps and some help SL too (my new one does which is great - the old one was rubbish).
SL don't have targets unlike ASMs, being self employed we can do as little, or as much, as we like. I work full time too, so don't spend much time building my team, though I am there to support existing team members when they need any help.
in theory - even if the whole of the UK had a rep to cover every street, you could still get new people being reps, as a lot of people only want to sell to just their work place / friends / family. Obviously that would reduce sales to the territory reps, as they would loose some customers to these reps, but a lot of people only want to put little orders through so that they can get their own stuff at a discount - I know I would if I ever decided to stop doing avon, I'd just do a bit, as we can still order the demo products at a discount regardless of how little we order.
Like I mentioned, we tried kleeneze, and absolutely hated it - it was too full on. Avon is a lot more laid back in that respect, which we like. Obviously some of that depends on who you join with - some asms / SL will be pushier than others, but for the main part, they know you are only going to do as much as you want to, they will try and motivate you to achieve what you want - but there isn't that feeling of being "pushed" as much. Plus theres no upfront costs, which means people can try it and if they don't like it they aren't out of pocket. Though it leaves us SL out of pocket, as we only get refunded for the brochures we provide when a new rep places an order of £78 or more - I was very irriated when a new lady placed an order of less than £30 (so I didn't earn anything), didn't get my money back for the books, and yet I still needed to provide her second lot of brochures. Doesn't happen too often thankfully, but I can see why its like that - keeps avons costs down, and means SL can't abuse the system.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Usually within about a week your account should have been loaded.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

It's usually quicker - but keep in mind the contract has to be posted to Avon, so if you were signed late in the day it wouldn't go until the following days post. I'd work on the assumption that you'll be accepted - it's very rare for Avon to refuse people, the only real reason is if you've done Avon before and left owing them money.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
