can someone please clarify whether i do HAVE to let the tax man know?! I work 27.5 hrs a week and avon is just part time... and probably will always be just part time lol :)

yeah you do. :) Just ring them or fill out the online form on their website. takes a couple of minutes.

If you claim tax credits you have to let them know too.
  • i just thought about the tax credits... how on earth am i going to tell them how much im likely to earn when i dont know??!
  • Avon Newbie here!!
Had the intial start up meeting with the area manager today.... so excited!
I've never even tried Avon products, seen one of their brochures or been on their website it's amazing!
There's already so much I want! Let alone my customers!

Area Manager has left my with 40 brochures which are all ready to go out tomorrow.
I suppose I'd ideally like to make £1000 a month eventually (my current income) but for now I'd just like to beat the targets I've been set to get the freebies!

Could anyone let me know some of their start up experiences. I feel really excited to get started - hope it stays that way!
Looking at the prices etc I can't imagine how I won't sell stuff in my area and the products are so good!
Lol I sound like a right keen bean! :D
2014: Beaulieu Family Ticket, Pregnancy Massage, Nuby Weaning Kit
2011 was my luckiest year so far!
    Biggest win: 18th March 2011: over £8,000!

For selling more jewellery - could be an idea to stress that it comes boxed (now its leading up to Christmas it could encourage people to buy it as a gift!), and yes its a good idea to wear some yourself - I sometimes book mark the jewellery section with the ring sizer as well, picking a page where theres some jewellery at about £3 or £4 each - as its only a few pounds customers are more likely to order some to try, then once they realise its good quality they might well order more expensive items in the future.

Main thing in the beginning is to be reliable, and to stick with it lol - not everyone will order the first few times (especially if the previous rep messed them about), so keep deliverying a few times even if they don't order, I've had people ordering on the 5th time and although she doesn't order regularly, when she does she spends at least £20. In your first campaign I wouldn't worry too much about running any offers etc - just make it obvious you are a new rep who is happy to help! The space on the message bit on the order forms is good for that, or print some notes off and pop them in with your brochures, so that they are visible without the book needing taking out of the bag - that way people can't help but know you are the new rep! Good luck! :)

    Hiya,
I ordered the Anew clinical beauty bonus on the day it was in the sale.....but now I can't remember what was acctually in it! :o
I have a few anew orders so wanted to see if any are in the pack *fingers crossed!*
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks
  • Thanks for the heads up on the C14 ladies and also advice on the bits you've done to push jewellery. Never thought to mention that the jewellery came in a nice gift box Lozza so will put that on they flyer I'm producing.

I'm going along the lines of 'Why not spread the cost of Christmas by taking advantage of Avon's fantastic fragrance offers and stylish jewellery in this campaign'

I now have 7 members on my facebook group :rotfl: one is from Nottingham and I have no idea why she would join my group as its no where near where I live?!?!

I have some new territory to tackle this campaign so fingers crossed my sales will be better.

Johanne - that picture's much more worth taking than mine would have been!
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Did you get the email I sent out? Not sure if it was last week or the week before - it had an attachement of the flyer I'll be using for C15 - I've mentioned about jewellery on that :)

I've got some members from miles away - view it as a good thing, as you can see what groups your friends are members of, they could have a friend who is in your area, sees the group from their friends page and so goes on to join :)
