Demo products - are these full-sized products, identical to the ones you'd order from the brochure? For example, if you bought a compact powder would the plastic be as good quality as the brochure version? I got a full-size freebie from Clinique once, but it had a plastic tube instead of a metal one.

yes they are full size products. They are exactly the same as you would be ordering from the book. :D

Clearance catalogue - my SL dropped these off when they came around. Do they normally come with your order?

Yes whenever there is a sale booklet, when you order your books, it will come with that.
    Thanks!

I have to go and look for the quote by Elliebee about the ebay seller.

I've always found this company very helpful and the 8 x 11 bags are an ideal size (they're even pictured with an Avon brochure) and last for ages. They're cheaper the more you buy, but for newbies I'd try a small quantity until you know you will continue.

    Thanks Elliebee

I bought a box of these bags last year and am still going strong on the same box :D

I was just re-reading bits of some of the old threads, and you had some really useful tips, not sure if they are on your list on the first page.

When have a few minutes, will have to sit and re-read through the threads and pick up all the useful bits suggested by everyone.

    Avon Connects is for everyone.

I don't have the tab yet, I was doing the online training to find out what it was all about.

To be honest it is kinda like facebook, you can put likes, dislikes, what you are into, films, books, etc on your profile, so your customers can find out a bit more about you.

Have a look on your Home Page, is there something on there about training for Avon Connect? If there is click on that, and you can learn all about it. The first training is fine, the second is so indepth and there is a LOT to take in.

Hiya - no its not been launched yet. My ASM was heavily involved in it and she's apparently at Avon's annual sales conference, back at work today. So am expecting the launch to be end of this week at the very earliest.

You'll know when its launched as you'll either get an email or when you next log on to www.avon.uk.com you'll be asked to confirm additional information to appear on your Avon Connects profile.

    HTH,
  • oh thanks. i have about 18 customers right now but not all of them will order every time and i can't keep ordering for myself so far im at a loss I owe avon about 20 after my profit. its no bother because i wanted everything ive ordered so thats ok. how does everyone else boost thier sales after customers friends and local business ect. do you do much in the way of online sales? i used to do great with ann summers on ebay and ebid getting top sales.

I don't do online selling. Because you would need to be registered as a business seller and also you would have to deduct ebay fees from things you sell. You may be worse off doing this, but you have done it before and sound like you were good at it. It may work for you.

I would try promoting myself as an Avon rep, advertise in shops, supermarkets, if they let you do it for free, tell everyone you meet, would they like to see an avon book, do they know anyone.

Goto your local Sure Start Centre, join the mum's group and take books with you.

    Good afternoon Ladies,

I have just had a look at todays offer but am unsure what "True Colour Eyeshadow Quad in Tiger's Eyes" is? I can find the Electric Purple set in brochure 13 but not Tigers Eyes??

Well, I've just finished collecting my first street and a half of books! There are about 6 houses that didn't leave the book out and didn't answer the door, and a LOT of houses that opted out of receiving further brochures, but out of the orders collected so far, I've managed to accumulate over £60! I've still two people who want me to go back as they might have an order, and another 5 streets to canvas as well, but I don't think I'm going to be able to get around them all in time. (Only have 30 brochures) So, I think it's going ok and I'm quite pleased.

I do have a question from a potential customer though: About 30 years ago (!) Avon did a men's fragrance called Thai Winds. It's unsurprisingly no longer in circulation, but they were wondering if anyone would know what a similar scent would be. Unfortunately they don't know what notes were present in the scent. Any ideas?

    Thanks everyone!
