  • Just looking at all my empty boxes from my deliveries wondering what to do with them. What do you all do with them? I have kept some for storing things but ended up binning the rest last delivery and am reluctant to do it every time if there are other ways to utilise them. Came up with the idea that I may take them down to my local Aldi for people to use to take their shopping home in (and accidentally leaving a business card at the bottom of each one ;). Do you think they would allow it? What other ideas do people have. Also, how do you dispose of your old brochures?

Well boxes are always popular on Freecycle if you are a member! PM me if you want to know more.
Im using mine to pack up my bedroom and kitchen at present while we have some work done and new central heating. Boxes are hard to come by these days via the shops so do try to find someone to make use of them. Maybe some homeowner with a for sale sign? You may get an order from them too!

How does everyone find Avon - does it make you the money that you thought it would. What are the pros and cons?

I am looking to try and find a way to make some extra money and wondered if this is the way to go.

    Thank you.

  • Morning everyone.

I was going to ask - how do everyone store their "Avon" stuff?? I have it all over my bedroom and want to find a cheap way of storing it so that it's organised and easy to find and using the Avon boxes for it is taking up too much space.

And to answer H - I started Avon back in June and didn't expect to make anything from it but I'm now on my 4th Campaign and have made something in every campaign :j But you have to put the effort in, and try and boost your sales hth x

I have plastic boxes that I bought from IKEA, on wheels so they are easy to push around, they are also stacking. So I put some stuff in there and put them in a cupboard. But at the moment I am using avon boxes for my surplus items. But have to get rid of them soon, DH is staring daggers at them....lol

Thank you for your reply Loubylou - so is it a case of you get out of it what you put in? Did you have any training - how did you find it if you did.

Sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure it is for me before signing up.

  • If your sales are over £78 you get 20% commission and if they're over £148 you get 25% commission. We're not talking about huge amounts but it's extra pocket money for me so I can buy myself something without feeling guilty. Plus I'm new to my area so it's been a great way for me to get to know people who live here. And I also have a Facebook page and I've actually had most of my sales from that through friends and family. I try to offer incentives in every campaign to try and boost my sales as well. It gets me out and about and because I'm very shy it's boosted my confidence because I know I have to talk to people.

It really just depends on how much work you want to put in for your extra money xxx

  • Good Morning Hobel

This is my third Avon campaign and as far as training goes, I received some advice/info from my ASM (I didnt sign up with a SL) but the best place to receive info and help is on here, there are people who have been doing Avon for ages and between them know all the answers. Yes you get out of it what you put in and to start of with its a lot of putting brochures through doors and finding out who does and does not want Avon but after a few campaigns you start to get regular customers and I have found if you take time to chat with them and get to know them a bit it makes your job a lot nicer (plus I have got to meet loads of cats and dogs, bliss!!:D).
  • Oh and I wouldn't say I got training as such. I was signed up by an Area Sales Manager and I've seen her twice, not seen her since before I put in my very first order. I've bascially worked it all out for myself which I find is sometimes better as it's easier to understand x

    Sorry, long post alert!!!

Ref Herve Leger - absolutely no idea how to pronounce it (mmm might google it in a minute), but I've got it and I quite like it. Very disappointed in how long it lasts though. Purse spray is superb (sorry Aureol not tried the silver container again - was collecting my 80 books last night!), hope Avon do refils but not holding my breath either.

If anybody is looking for an Avon perfume which lasts, can I suggest Aromadisiac? A customer wanted a sample, which Avon don't do, so I ordered a full size bottle and said I'll send it back if she's not keen. She had ONE spray of it on her doorstep and because I was fairly close to her some it must have gone onto me. I was doing my deliveries 2 hours later and I could still smell the damn stuff.

Would have been fine, except both myself and my customer both hated it! Very strong. So its going back.

Ref the boxes, yes I flatten mine down and shove them in our recycling bin. We also have recycling bags and before we got our bin I left some outside in the bags and they got taken away. I always keep one box for returns, and flatten the others (usually 3 at the most). I guess the argument is that if you were ordering Avon online as a customer you'd probably get the same boxes so you could argue that ........ but there is no argument for putting 50 brochures in your recycling bin!! I put my brochures in the bin also but never at the top so they aren't visible. Our binmen get round the estate so quickly I don't think they have time to have a good nosey in the bins!!

Am I right in thinking you're NOT allowed to put your brochures in the recycling???
