Have I worked it out wrong? If 1 customer spends £16 and my total orders is over HOV I make £4 from that customer? My maths has never been good so I apologise if I'm talking rubbishI'm an Avon Rep!

Hey all,
Going back to incentives to buy, I have started running a "Karens Rep Offer" every campaign in my little newsletter (design taken and slightly edited from one sent to me by lucyclare, thanks hun x). Trialled it last campaign and only got one customer who took me up on it (but it was a new customer). Have done it again this campaign so fingers crossed it may tempt someone. My newsletter gives tips on the best bargains in the campaign but I focus on one category and give examples. Here is what I offered:
Camp 13 - Newsletter gave details of half-price make-up. Reps offer - Spend £10 on make-up in Brochure 13 and choose a True Colour Eyeshadow Quad for £3.75. Pg11 (this is basically at cost to me but tempts the customer to purchase at least £10s worth of make-up)
Camp 14 - Newsletter gave details of half-price pamper products. Reps offer - Spend £10 on Skincare or Bath and Body Products in Brochure 14 and choose upto two Thailand Lotus Flower Spa Treats for £1.50 each. Pg153 (normally upto £6.50 each but were £1.99 each in Brochure 13 so will backorder and give to them at cost to me) (beware with this one though if you are going to give out Brochure 14 in camp 15 as you won't be able to back order from camp13 then).
Let me know what you think. xEveryone loves a bargain :beer:0 -

In C13 page 93, all 5 of these items are £1.99. So I've decided to say if you order over £15 you can choose one of these items for 99p..............what does everyone think???
The price I'll be paying for these is £1.50 (providing I reach HOV) If they spend £15 I would make £4.00 (also adding on the 99p for the item), take away the £1.50 it's cost me to buy the items out of C13 I still make £2.50 which is still good and they might spend more than the £15 anyways.
rofl...we had the same thinking :beer:Everyone loves a bargain :beer:0 -
Lol great minds think alike!!
Here's my workings out as to how much that incentive would cost me - someone correct me if I'm working things out wrong - I'm still quite new to all this.
10 customers spend £15 so get item for 99p = £15.99
That comes to £159.90
£159.90 x 25% = £39.98 (£3.99 each customer)
10 x item from C13 = £1.99-25% = £1.50 x 10 = £15.00
My commission - total cost of items = £39.98-15.00 = £24.98
So I still make £24.98?I'm an Avon Rep!

no, no, you are right. I struggle with this, so have had to pull up an old invoice and work it out from there!
Yes, you may make over £4 depending on how much your total sales are, by that I mean you make more than £4 each customer if you get over £200 of sales.
I think though, that you are paying out £1.50 off your discount, I personally would try to keep this below £1, but it might be good as a first promotion, to entice them in..... and then maybe around xmas, offer a similiar promotion. Or if you have managed to build up a goodie box with creative ordering, you can just offer something from your box, they don't need to know what they are getting.
Also they might buy more of these products if they like them.0 -

yes you do, but remember to deduct the cost of your books from this too and anything else you buy from HT.0 -

I'm going to offer this to the houses I've not canvassed yet, my regular customers have had incentives with the last 3 campaigns so I think I can afford to just have a normal campaign for them and chuck in some samples with their orders if they order anything.I'm an Avon Rep!

you are very good! Don't come to my area! they will expect the same from me...lol0 -
I think I'm enjoying doing Avon more because I'm actually thinking about it rather than just putting books out, taking them back, ordering then delivering the goods. It makes it more exciting and challenging when you think of ways to make more and get more customers in. I would never have thought about creative ordering until I read this thread so I'm going to give that a bash with C14.
I have started a goodie box but there's not much in it and it's just stuff that a few people ordered then changed their minds, and because they weren't expensive items and I was just starting out I decided to keep them to give myself a start with Avon stock. But I've already seen things in C13 and C14 that I'm going to get to add to the box.I'm an Avon Rep!
