In July I need to buy nail polish remover pads to take on hols, cucumber eye refreshing pads (if I can find any, I think I got the last lot from TJ Hughes) and deodrant. Yesterday I bought some sun lotion for my hols and spent £10. I had to buy an electrical item from Boots yesterday as a present and so I've got a £2 haircare voucher to use before 13 July. There is a thread about the voucher on Grabbit and it seems there are plenty of reduced SELs around for shampoo but there were none in the branch I was in and so I decided to save the voucher for another day to try and get better value from it. I am planning to use it to get something from the Charles Worthington or John Frieda range which will be my treat for the month. So, my July budget is £17 which includes the £10 I've already spent. As I shall be going on holiday later in the month, I've only got 3 weeks to try to be good!

I was tempted by a magazine I saw yesterday with a free face moisturiser but managed to put it back down again when I thought about the makeup bag I've got which is full of moisturisers! It certainly has helped me to group products together by type because I am more aware now of what stuff I've got.

I've been on the Freebies board to sign up for a couple of shampoo samples and hope these come through in time for my hols.

I have £27 in Boots points which I have been saving up for a new hairdryer but as it's my birthday in August I've put this down on my birthday list and therefore hope that I won't have to buy it myself. I shall be lying in the sun on holiday dreaming of what I can splurge my points on when I get back! For once I haven't put toiletries down on my list and so I am feeling :A.

I spent £8.58 in July. I bought 2 packs of Tesco Vitamin E Facial Wipes and spent £7.60 on a Dermalogica starter kit (I had bought a voucher in May from mycitydeal that entitled me to £15 off the Dermalogia kit).

I'm planning to spend less this month, maybe even nothing at all! I have nearly used up my Herbal Essences shampoo though, and don't really like any of the other bits of shampoo I have left, However I will try to persevere and not buy any new shampoo until August unless my hair goes especially awful!

Just off to reorganise the bathroom cupboard!

noelphobic............if i were you I'd decant all your leftover unloved shampoo into an old handwash bottle and use it as handwash. That's in the spirit of the challenge as it won't be wasted and you won't chance the bad hair days!

I'll give the shampoos a couple of gos but if I'm not happy I might just do that. I also need to have a root around (no pun intended lol!) in case there is any I have forgotten about.

Or use unloved shampoo to clean your make up brushes.:A

I didn't buy the Liz Earle Todays Special Value from QVC. Yay me. Although today my eyes are sore I could probably do with her eyebright (anyone here used it?). I keep getting puffy eyes, think my eyes dont like the Clarins make up remover, nearly finished now.

    Nearly used up:
Clarins eye make up remover, the blue bottle - wiba no. Its ok but for some reason I think I am sensitive to it.

Body Shop seaweed SPF15 lotion - wiba yes. Lovely smell, lovely texture, handy size if out in the sun. Buy, buy, buy! (if on offer of course).

Keep cool everyone and remember the SPF. :A

    Nearly used up:

Boots Botanics Eye Make Up Remover - I will be buying again, as at £2.99 I think it is good value for money and suits my skin. :) Also, I'm nearly out of cotton wool pads - is there anywhere that does really good ones cheaply?

I did some gardening today and then had a lovely pampering shower. I used a sachet of Cellulite Lip-Serum (about 19p from Home Bargains last year!) on my thighs. You had to massage the lotion in and then it turned into small balls to have a body scrub effect. I have another sachet of this which I'll use next week. I'm trying to get my legs as ready for the beach/pool as possible. I've been applying body lotion every day for months now and so my skin is nice and soft. I've also recently started to apply some Botanics Firming Body Gel to my legs. It's only a small tube and I estimate I'll use it up this week. Who knows whether any of this stuff will make any difference to the appearance of my legs but at least I feel better for having a go! I'm also dieting and hope to lose a few more pounds before I let them loose on the poor public!

Today I have managed to UU an Alberto Balsam pink shampoo. WIBA?: Not yet, I still have some there. Also UU S&G hair supply. WIBA?: Probably not, I don't really like the smell. If I see it on a silly offer then I might because it is nice and you don't need much. I really like how well it works on DD's hair as hers is long and gets really manky. If she likes the smell then I may buy it for her though. I thought I was going to finish off my body wash too but it lives to last another day. Not bothered though cause I like this stuff!
I was naughty earlier when I got out of the bath and didn't moisturise. I put this down to the fact that I've got baby lotion out atm and it doesn't feel that luxurious. I may have a ferret around in stash and see what else there is that I really want to use. I need something lotiony or buttery.

Thanks, a full month of use ups does make it look like we're making progress. I think I might make it even more useful for July by counting items in and items out. Important point here is that items in really needs to be a lower number than items out.

Who had over 1500 items when they did a stocktake or anyone remember what the exact number was? I'm too scared to do a full count like that. Maybe I'll do it next January if I manage to use up loads of samples before then.

I have a notebook in my handbag and am using it too keep lists for everything, toiletries used, freebies received, mystery shops done and any other MSE challenges I sign up to. Then I can type the lists for my diary thread later

3rd July and not one cosmetic item purchased yet:A

    I have about 500 items if it's me you're thinking of :o
