I have. For about 2 years got it done quite regularly. Used to suffer from IBS and it was suggested to me so got it done and no more IBS since (also lost weight which was a bonus!) Some people say its bad for you but I never felt anything but better after I got it done.

    Thank you Sunshine!

Was it sore getting it done? I don't really think I'll be tense becasue I've wanted one for a long time! :o

How much weight did you lose? (That seems like quite a good added bonus!!) :D

I'm trying to have a bit of a lifestyle makeover just now...I'm bored of being a slummy mummy and really want to change and start wearing nice clothes, make up...etc but I thought feeling good on the inside first will make me feel better and more motivated :D

Sore - definately not. It felt a bit weird the first time as you dont feel right pooing when you arent on the toilet! I lost about half a stone quite quickly. It wasnt constant weight loss afterwards though but I did feel much better for it.
I know what you mean about wanting to have a bit of a makeover. I quite fancy that too (I had to stop getting them done as it is quite expensive and when I lost my job I couldnt afford it any more).

When I started going they had a chat with me about what I ate etc and then after looking at my poo (:o) they told me what I should avoid and what I should eat more of etc to make me feel better and healthier.

My skin looked much nicer too after I got it done as it gets rids of loads of toxins (supposedly there can be 10 year old poo remnants in your bowels and it basically gets rid of alot of it. I would certainly recommend it and once I can afford it again its likely I will start going back. Was definately worth the money overall.

I need as much info on it as possible before I book as I'll have to travel to get there which isn't ideal but there's no where around here to get it done or I probably would have had it by now!!

I read that an older gentleman had it done and a marble came out...he hadn't played with marbles for over 40 years

How often do you have to get them?

I had one done a couple of years ago!

If I could afford it again I would.

If did feel a little weird when she inserted the tube, I can get very queasy and lighted headed but it was so quick that I barely noticed it!

It didn't take very long and afterwards I did feel quite cleansed and well with in myself!

My poo was very good apparently but then I drink 4 litres of water a day.

You are not meant to drink afterwards and eat carefully but I don't think I felt the full benefits as I had it done Friday afternoon before a weekend away.

I'd absolutely get one if you can afford it!

Not meant to drink alcohol? That'so.k...I can't remember what it's like to go out, let alone be drunk! :D

Was it a nice 'empty' feeling? That's what I'd like to achieve...I eat loads of veg and drink about 2litres of water a day but I find that I still feel quite sluggish at times. I was hoping a colonic would give me the boost I need to feel good! :)

I used to get them done regularly, I loved them! Had to stop as I couldn't afford them and I'm now pregnant but will have one done after the baby's born.

You need to check with the clinic if they use disposable tubes or not - mine does (you see them unwrap the tube), apparently some use a reusable one that gets sterilised after each use, which I find a a bit disgusting to be honest!

It was a while ago now but from memory I had to get 3 done fairly close together then after that I used to get it every 3 months. The only warning I would give is that you should make sure you are definately OK to leave the place before you get in the car. I used to live about 5 minutes drive away and on one occassion I almost didnt make it home in time - if you catch my drift. (:rotfl::o) You can drink alcohol but are more likely to get drunk if you have just had it done. AS someone else said, check that they use disposable tubes. The place I went to did. I dont know how detailed you wanted me to be so I will just go into great detail and hope I dont offend anyone!!....

You go in and have a chat about your dietary habits then you lie on the table on your side with your knees tucked to one side. They put loads of lubrication on the end of the hosepipe (the disposable bit) then they insert it (its not sore either). They then put the water on (its warm water) and you stay in that position for a bit then they ask you to turn onto your bottom with your knees up. The place I went to massage your stomach while the water is going in to help loosen the old feacal matter. They ask you to let them know when you feel "full" then they put the water off. Sometimes you feel like you are going to have a really big poo which is a bit of a strange feeeling but after the intial embarrassment is over with its fine. The tube they use is see through so they can see what your poo looks like when its coming out. They can normally tell from that whether there is anything that you are eating that might not be agreeing with you or making you feel tired etc. At the end of the session they leave the room and there is a toilet in the same room (or just next door). You go and sit on it with your legs raised up on a stool (this helps get rid of more poo) and wait until you think that its all "out". If you put your arms above your head whilst you are doing this to straighten your body up you get rid of more of it. And thats pretty much about it. Not the most elegant of things to have done but definately works!! (if you need any more info you can PM me if you want to. :))

Thanks for that run-down sunshine, i don't think anyone will be offended, as i would have thought like me they clicked on the 1st post because they are interested about it and maybe thinking about getting it done, if offended then no-one made them read it!!

Roughly how much is 1 treatment? i think i would feel better for having it done.
Thanks for brining the 'subject' up angelicmary85.

this is such an interesting thread :)

Can I ask two things - how much did it cost (I know it will be different in different places, just getting a guideline) and did you actually fit into your clothes better afterwards as opposed to just weighing less?

    **oops cross posted Kat** :)
