Malc.. there is definitely an underlying problem with your website. This hasn't just been in the last few days, although it's now worse than it ever was.

Problem for most of us is that contractually as consumers we have to manage our account online as part of our discount deal. I suppose in theory that if a consumer doesn't enter the readings when asked, then the discount might be witheld?

    Its been rubbish for months.

Eon are seemingly not willing to spend time/money on a fix or upgrade so we'll have to accept it as standard service.

    Hi Dave save

Don't worry about discount being withheld because we don't have meter readings.

Whilst it's always preferable to have accurate readings to bill to, it is not part of the terms of any of our current tariffs that these must be provided before discount is applied.

Your discount is quite safe regardless of what the website is doing.

Sorry for the problems you're experiencing but hope this eases your concerns a little.

  • More than 24 hours on and the web site is unbelievable slow - I've browsed 20 other sites before a single refresh or log on. I've been trying to use the on line service since entering meter readings 2 or 3 weeks ago and then being sent a number of reminders asking to supply a reading. Helpfully, the lady on the phone said that it was the first complaint about slowness she had heard since joining in March. Great PR EON, but clearly just not true.

I've been with EON for 10 years and am considering looking at other pricing now, but it may be that the inaccessible website is enough to make me move anyway. I'm losing the will to live. This is not progress of any sort.

yeah, your right, their website is as slow as treacle ! I was checking their tariffs and found it took ages to access and I see people on here have been complaing for weeks about how slow it is.So thats one prob solved,if they can be bothered to get that fixed,I wont bother thinking of switching, frying pan into fire etc...........................:j
  • Website still like treacle. Unbelievable service, for web-based, online only, accounts.
  • I agree, was ridiculously slow this afternoon. Works fine now.

Was slow earlier, I just opened another tab and left it to do it's thing. The site didn't time out, just was slow loading.
  • Currently trying to enter meter readings and it has taken over an hour so far. I will be sending E.On a Bill for my time!

This is a disgusting service and a total joke for a company that operates an online only tariff.

If E.On can't be bothered to implement properly 'Load-Balanced' webservers then they should 'stagger' email and SM TXT notifications asking customers to enter meter readings.

Marc, I welcome your comments but I'm afraid that you are sounding more and more like a broken record. Please respond with an ACTUAL ACTION PLAN from your Employers, not more lame excuses.

    Thank you.
  • I have just spent what seems like hours trying to check my account and if I'm on the best tariff.

My time costs me money, so maybe I'm best NOT to change tariff but supplier.
