    Hi everyone,

Hope a happy Saturday is being had by all!
solventsoon oh dear, I know all about the “cheap week, I don’t need a lot” grocery shopping.
You really are not the only one to realise with a shock how much money you’ve been spending on food - been there myself. I’m cutting back now but still have a way to go. Popping to the shops every couple of days is a disaster, I ration myself to two days maximum a week now, and get everything then, it’s surprising how much you can save doing that, but you need to be organised to do it. Good luck.:)
Thanks for that spoon, I've given myself a right talking too, sorted out a budget and a plan, now all I need to do is stick to it :D I can happily declare today as NSD no 1 :)

    Hi All,

I haven't been on this thread before but thought i might give it a go if its ok to join late? - will stop me buying drinks and lunches at work and should keep me on track. will go for 15 NSD for the rest of this month.
Won't be spendig anything today - in fact have returned some clothes i bought last month .. so am having a refund day!!

Will have a root through the cupboards soo what i can make to eat

    see you soon

    NMS x

NSD no 1 today, with plans for another tomorrow....Monday may not be one (returning shoes, so will try cw18's approach!), and Tuesday we are off to Scotland for our hols, so spending may occur (diesel etc) :o. I will be MIA for two weeks...., not sure how I will cope without you all!!

Off to cut out some evenweave in preparation for my holiday X-stitch projects....can't wait!

See you at Centre Court tomorrow. Will bring the summer pudding I have made with our own fruit (blackcurrants, redcurrants & strawberries, together with some cherries from a friend's garden)...looks scrumptious. Has anyone got any cream??

I'm not very good at descriptive work - my English teacher despaired of me - but will try ;)
    • 'tis sleeveless (but the straps aren't those really narrow shoe-string ones - more of a wide vest type)
    • cut straight across back of neck (though has a top button, so there's still an openening a few inches long), and a 'not too deep' V-cut front.
    • slight pleat to centre front - both above and below the stitching that attaches the bodice to the skirt - and a couple of darts either side of this in the skirt piece
    • has a pocket either side - not in the side seams, but on a slight diagonal just in front of them
    • very small 'kick split' in the centre bottom back of the skirt
    • bit tricky to put on/take off, as it's a side zip dress (so doesn't fully open for stepping into/pulling over head)
    • black with lots of white spots (not tiny, but not big either)
oh! and it's pretty short by my current standard !!! have a feeling OH will like, as it's not much longer than the skirts I used to wear 25 years ago - and which he apparently 'admired' rolleyes.gif

ETA: It's one that could be worn in an office/round town, or dressed up for a night out on the town. Probably not smart enough for 'the Captains table' though, so not quite what 3Dogs is looking for. Still, it was a bargain at £7 (reduced from £14, which I wouldn't have paid for it), especially as it was part of a £25 bundle of clothes I then got to use a £5 off voucher against (so 25% off everything effectively brings the dress down to £5.60 :T)

That's a pretty good description, like the sound of it, Cheryl, very smart. Will be ideal for skaps' wedding:D:D
:) The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time :)

So I've been to 2 large hypermarkets, and not spent a penny :T :T
And I've managed not to go near any other shops today, so declaring today as NSD #2 :D

Been busy working on my living room instead..... the entire contents are now boxed up (apart from the furniture, obviously, and the large electrical appliances). Most of the boxes have been 'relocated' to other sites around the house (going to have to figure how I'm getting into my bedroom and then my bed later rolleyes2.gif), with the remainder stacked on the 2-seater settee. The bulk of the carpet has been swept, and I now need to move some very large (and heavy) oak units across the room. Once I've done that (DS doesn't yet know he's going to have to help ;)) I want to sweep where they've been and wash down the skirting boards - then that site of the room will get the carpet washed. Once it's dry the units will go back (but in a different order, as I want a furniture rejig), then everything else will go in front of them while I wash down the other half of the room.

While I'm waiting for the carpet to dry I need to get started on my hall-way (there's a unit out there which needs to come into the living room), the landing (need to move some boxes so I can resite a computer desk so I can get into the loft!), my bedroom and the dining room :o

So that's me mega-busy (and hopefully kept away from the shops) for the next few days - especially as I'm taking a break to join you all at Wombledon tomorrow :D

Evening all! Tomorrow is looking like a possible NSD for me, but watch this space...

Have managed to bag (or blag) a block of seats on the Centre Court right opposite the umpire so we can all give him the evil eye if he starts picking on the fellas ....you know the ones I mean, those in the tight white shorts with the suntanned legs....down, Nargle! Dribble dribble.......
