  • BMF - I had a go at Cheryl's spreadsheet two months ago and fiddled with it a bit to make it work for me. Unfortunately my disorganised life then took over and I forgot to fill it in! :p

Will try to get to grips with it again in August. I'm not the sort to make budgets, I prefer to spend on what I need and if I don't have the money I don't buy it. Any money not spent gets saved for another day. Maybe that's why I haven't got any debts (apart from mortgage), but I do sympathise with those that do.

I tend to G00gle my smilies. I've found some good ones I'm just dying to try out.

    How about this for starters?

Today was grocery day. There was an accident on the bridge outside our Mr A's when we came out. Ambulances, Fire Engines, Police. They had to shut the bridge and everyone was directed through Yarmouth's one-way system. Absolute nightmare. A journey which normally takes us 10 minutes took us two hours! But then it was mostly DH's fault as he said he would try to find a short cut. We ended up in the same queue but a mile further back than we had been . Not that I told him it was his fault, just wouldn't have been worth it :(.

DS2 has a karate grading tomorrow. If he passes he will be three months away from getting his brown belt. Not bad as he's only 7! DD has now decided she wants to do kickboxing instead of karate now that she's a black belt. She's got her eyes on one of those belts like the boxers win. They have two world champions at her gym and countless other titles so, why not?

Phew, just realised how long this post is. Sorry about that!

Oh, and well done Jo :T:TA%3E
Life is knowing which bridges to burn and which bridges to build!

Bad news - washer dryer motor kaput, will cost nearly £500 to replace, engineer advised not worth it.

Good news - after he had gone, OH took the top off, found some broken screws and some bits of washball balls in the innards, banged it with a spanner, ran it on a couple of hot washes as advised by engineer - we now have a dryer that works again. Might not work for long, but it means a stay of execution.

Even good-er news - I got NSD number 12!!!! Yippee, shiver me timbers, swash my buckle, Jack Sparrow here I come - arrrrr! Pieces of eight, pieces of eight!Where's me buccaneers? (Under your buckin hat!)

So, Buck Hice tomorrow - how many puddy tats do you think we will cram in the Tardis? I will bring the smoked salmon and champers, plus a bucket of cat litter.
If we stuff Big Mumma's mega-sized lilo on the top floor ( away from puddy tat claws ) we will be able to nip off (or should that be orf?) to Brighton in the afternoon for a paddle. Now, did anyone remember to put the Tardis on charge after the last outing?

    Hi there - back again!

Solved the curtain issue - I filled a basin with a dose of cheap bio powder and a scoop of Vanish and sponged the affected area of the curtains. Luckily the stain was just on the lining and its come out ok - sigh of relief! Couldnt face having to take them down and get them dry-cleaned. In my experience I've had curtains shrink after drycleaning so I dont really trust it!

Handed the sample into the vet, he'll phone me back later with the result. The nurse quickly tested it and there are no crystals which is great cos they cause blockages - very nasty for puss. I just want to speak to the vet re the sickness. He changed his food on Tues to Hills Diet for Neutered Males - I feel the food is the culprit, but what do I know - Im not a vet!:(
I got puss a nice wee fish so I'll poach it in water and give him a little later. I feel his poor wee tum needs a break. Honestly, I'm worried sick!
Thanks for being so understanding everyone - it means a lot:A

Just reading the end of this thread - sorry to hear that your kitty is under the weather, they are a worry aren't they. I used to be part of a cat forum (before it was taken down by Cat World) Dicky tummies was a common afflication to some of the mogs on the board. I did notice that someone else suggested plain cooked chicken is also good to settle a kits tum, and also plain rice is another option. A change of diet can often be the culprit, esp if they have been used to one particular food for a while. Has he suddenly changed from a dry to wet (or vice versa) diet?
