Oh and I'm mildly regretting not getting a beaded waistcoat from River Island yesterday. I'm in two minds about whether to whiz back there at lunchtime and see if they've still got it and if it's too big or not. It was a size 16 which I'm not, but it's very beautiful and not the sort that buttons up so I think perhaps it doesn't matter so much if it's a bit big?

    Afternoon lovelies!

I saw those Alex, in my opinion the nicest thing in their sale. A largesr size worn open would be very stylish over another layer.

Just wrapping parcels and then off to buy food for saturday.

Poor old Lucy (our ancient moggy) is on her last legs, don't think she'll last the weekend. Debating whether to leave her be as I think the vets will be too traumatic.

On a lighter note, today's outfit:
Lime green 1960's lace puddycat bow blouse (eBay)
Vintage men's evening pants in navy I revamped into shorts
Lime green crochet cardi with ruffled short sleeves (From £39.99 to £3 in River Island in Jan)
    Grey opaques
Patent grey Wylie wedges with 6inch wood heels (TopShop sale 3 years ago)
    Usual silver bangles, rings
Lime green chandelier earrings with turquoise stone (Mumbai)

Oh yay, I won a short sleeved Topshop wrap a round cardigan on eBay last night. Looks really versatile and a little more than I would normally pay for eBay but meh.

Hope its as nice as i'm hoping. Must stay away from eBay from now on though (well until payday - 2 weeks today) as I am so over budget its unbeleivable.

Feeling rather 'bleurgh' now. Can't really face work later, I work for one of the most hated organisations in the country in one of there call centres which means I will get screamed at from when I sign on at 5pm until I sign off at 8pm. Then I get to do another 13 hours this weekend :j. Fun, fun, fun!

Haha I have no shame when it comes to reading embarrassing books in public :D

I've been reading Stuart McBride's books recently and they're good but very gruesome so probably best avoided if you don't like that sort of thing. Try some Dorothy L. Sayers - really intelligent, well written mysteries. Murder Must Advertise is brilliant but I do adore the Harriet Vane ones as well.

I tend to find the Richard & Judy recommendations a bit hit and miss. Some are great but some bore me to tears. I'm one of those annoying types who can't not finish a book so I get soooo frustrated reading stuff I don't like!

Thanks Alex - will check out Murder Must Advertise.

Goan and Mia - sending hugs to you both.

    xx

    Thanks Sarah :o

Alex, I just phoned my friend who works in the shopping centre, she says that she hasn't seen that particular waistcoat in store. Maybe it was just bigger stores that stocked it?

Changed my outfit, its incredibley boring but will do for work.

Black bootcut trousers - New Look
Grey 3/4 sleeve jersey top - Dorothy Perkins (i think)
Black waistcoat (you inspired me) - Dorothy Perkins (i think - again)
    Black heels.

Hair is 'just got out of bed' messy so its a nice contrast to my tailored look (i think!!:rotfl:)

The one I saw it in was in a retail park, so not a particularly big store. Ah well, perhaps it's not meant to be. Thanks so much for checking though Mia, really sweet of you :)
  • Alex, river island in widnes??
