hi all, sorry not been about for a bit.
got myself the champion isa in nationwide as the basic one was giving me pants interest, got £2000 in thier but left just over £1500 for spending money etc for New Zealand.
sorting out the direct debits for my rent and council tax plus trying to save/sort the money them, and save up again for the next holiday as well as in general plus i wouldnt mind as i say getting a tattoo and a nintendo ds.0 -
saved quite well this month, £160 although itd probably go on my council tax, credit card bill with a little left spare, so next month i hope to do even better.
still spent something from my general savings again but seem to be getting better, esp as im getting my stress and problems sorted?0 -
Hi UnluckyT, good news on the savings
I am yet to look into proper running shoes as the weather's been pretty poor and I haven't really been thinking about running. I'm off this weekend though so if I get the chance to go into town tomorrow I might pop into the sports shop for a consultation.
In MSE world, things are going OK, we're about half-way there so not too long to go now! I may be able to stick some more ££ in the wedding fund before the end of the month so we'll see

hi all, hope all okay, getting thier and so on.
will be doing the payday dance tomorrow, although most of money is spoken for.
had to look at budget and up one amount a bit to ensure the money thier to cover stuff. mainly as it for quite a bit of stuff from emergancies to new sofas/fridge to whatever i need including clothes and presciptions plus presents for birthdays and christmas.
must get back on the bandwagon as ive become quite lax with bieng savy and efficient with shopping, cooking and so on and have been wastefull?
hang my head in shame and start fresh with a new payday with lots of positivity?0 -
hi all, hope everone okay and so on.
saved £170 yesterday? although i will need to pay my credit card and use some of the money to cover my bills while im away in New Zealand. Plus i should get a new mobile as mines really old, the battery is pants and it not quad/tri band so i cant ring this country if im abroad?0 -
Well, happy belated pay day people!
Hi UnluckyT, did you get your mobile phone sorted? I have no idea about tri bands, that's the first I've heard of it!
OK, so we now have £2000 in the wedding fund, woo hoo! I really thought I was never going to get there, especially with all the various things that have come up recently.
I need to figure out what our next steps should be. I think I’ll set us a provisional new target of £1200 for September (on top of our current amount). It’s going to be a real stretch, but then again I thought our previous target would be impossible to reach so we’ll see how it goes.
In addition, I have converted my holiday fund (current balance £0.00) to our honeymoon fund (I had money in it but the flights for my cousin’s upcoming wedding have wiped me out). Anything that goes in that pot we’ll use towards our honeymoon, it’s a little extra contribution I’m making to help push things in the right direction. I am under no illusions it’ll cover the whole thing but we’ll see, I’m feeling positive at the moment.
I have made a detailed budget for myself this month as this month will be very expensive and I need to make sure every penny works extra-hard. I have just over £150 for things such as food, fuel, and other misc stuff for the whole month, and the rest has all been allocated to all my normal outgoings such as bills and whatnot. I have no idea how I’ll manage, but I don’t want to touch my savings.
Other than two (count them, two) weddings this month and one the next month (abroad) I don’t have any social events or anything like that coming up, and let me tell you now that’s plenty. I haven’t been to a wedding in years and now everyone’s decided to get married at the same time, what’s that about!
I do think that if someone’s made the effort to invite you to their wedding you should definitely try to go. Whilst they aren’t financially crippling me I am feeling the pinch, and they are definitely not helping my money saving quest to financial health, but what’s the point of life if you can’t live a little. I know each and every one of these weddings will be an absolute blast, I can’t wait.
Anyway, that’s enough ramblings for one day!
All the best,

plus having my ganglian sorted on my wrist at the end of the month and have bus and taxi fares to find with what left over from budgeting for everything, about £30 i think.
