oh hun really feel 4u xx
YOU have done amazing with your savings youve achieved your base savings target 1mnth early and from what i can see you are well on track for the other targets you have set. Dont let the argument youve had 2night set u back. at the end of the day (i am NOT sticking up 4 ur OH!) men are thoughtless idiots who say things without engaging their brains. ive also learnt that when they feel insecure about summat they tend 2throw that right back at u, in a way that makes u feel somehow in the wrong.
Really hope your journey goes ok 2mz and chin up hun, you are doing a fab job and just keep plowing at the targets and the savings. were all routing 4u xx'£5000 by hook or by crook' challenge - £4168/£5000

Aw Mary men are such idiots sometimes!! I agree with ILGPink you are doing fantastic with the savings. Finances are such an emotive subject. I will openly admit I go on and on to hubby about savings and being a good MSE - end goal is worth it though.
Having got married last year I also know that can be very stressful too.
Seriously though keep up what your doing and you will be fine.
Since Jan we havent really done anything too exciting. That has partially been due to hubby studying for his exam (again) and im keen to bank the £500 target per month. That does make me a boring fart though!
Well in terms of MSE, been doing surprisingly well so far. Payday on monday and looking to bag £400. Spending on credit card (march pay) even better - however we are now getting into a period of a few weeks of activity so that could change!!
Well pleased with ourselves, last night instead of going out drinking / dinner we took the opportunity to try "free swim friday". Basically local leisure centre has a free adult swim session we just needed to pay a one off £2.80 per person for a card. Hubby even dug out the money from the spare change jar so was effectivly free. I also insisted we buy dinner from supermarket and not get a take away. As tesco says "every little helps".2025 financial goals & challenges!

Yay happy pay days!!
Managed to bank a cheeky £415...! Not quite the magic £500. We have our annual service charge bill due end of March so that is likely to take some of my banked savings which is a real pain!
Also applied for the First Direct bank account so now waiting on the paperwork coming through for that. 8% Reg saver here I come!!2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hi guys,
Happy pay day!!!!
Thanks for all the messagesFeeling OK now, money discussions is something that doesn't come easy to us but it's something we'll work on.
As it's the last day of the month, as of now our wedding savings are £800. From tomorrow (as that's when our standing order kicks in) it'll be £1050. Happy about that, and obviously will be working towards increasing it throughout the month.
Emergency savings, again slow progress due to bills, and I can confidently say I've added £10 there which I'll definitely not need t some point over the next three months so that sucks.
BUT there's obviously more than that in the account, it's just that Im not adding it to my total here as that £ is earmarked for other things.
So, total as of tomorrow 01/03/2011 will be:
Emergencies, Xmas etc ..... [STRIKE]100[/STRIKE] 110/£500 .......... June 2011
Wedding (target # 1)........ [STRIKE]750[/STRIKE] 1050/2000 .......... June 2011
Hope everyone's still keeping well

Hello Mary, the general rule is to take at least 10-20% of your income and invest into a diversified portfolio. Silver is rising in value, and gold has always proven to be a good hedge against inflation. Consider investing in precious metals.0

Hello. How is everyone? Hope your all managing to be good MSE's!
Hubby this week has surprised me... we have been discussing buying a Wii for ages. Instead of buying brand new using some of our wedding pressie money, he has put his broken xbox 360 on ebay along with some accessories and his smartphone. He is inspired to sell some items to pay for Wii - the plan is to raise enough to buy a second hand one from his sales money. Must say think its a fab idea and pleased my frugal living is rubbing off on him!!
Spending wise i'm not doing too bad so far this month. Today enjoyed a £5 journey upto Yorkshire instead of the normal train. Good ole megabus!2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hi clarissa62,
How have you been?
Sorry for the long absence, been very busy with… I am not even sure what! Life gets in the way sometimes
Savings have been steady enough, I’ll have an actual figure come the 01/04 as by then I’ll have the MOT money and friend’s hen party deducted.
Unfortunately I didn’t earn quite as much this month but hey ho, next month will be much better (though it’s all already been spent in my head, even before it’s reached my bank account!)
In other news, wedding plans are going ok, visited a few more venues and slowly but surely we’re getting an idea of how we should get things done.
Hope everyone’s ok and enjoying the good weather!

Yay Payday and time for a quick update!
Well added another £320 to the savings pot and we had a viewing on the flat as well (first one in nearly a month!!).
Managed to pay off my last balance transfer credit card although had to make 2 payments as the 0% ran out before next pay day! This means im now nearly debt free (bar mortgage and student loan).
This month is also a big annual bill and we were short of £160 each so that has shaved off a bit of the targeted savings. Saying that im now at the 20% target reached stage which is fantastic!
Hope your all having a good start to the week.2025 financial goals & challenges!
