I had the same problem phoned and they said it was a mistake. I asked for a refund of my phone call they offered £2.00. I said that I want to speak to a manager he eventually gave me £5.00.

ive too had the under funding fee though paid in £500 each month to be honest i only keep this account going as have a online saver with them but think i can do without this grief. any ideas wheres best to put £11000 odd thats in it .

It's not a current account, but ING are good at the moment. 2.75% monthly interest. Website good. Faster Payments etc. AA are 2.8% but only paid annually, and it's snail slow for payments/receipts.

The AA accounts do accept faster payments in but use BACS for withdrawals exactly the same as ING.

Just noticed they've hit me with this £5 'underfunding fee' too. £500 paid into the account, as always, and these are the current T&C from the website:

Premier Direct Current Account You must pay in at least £500 each month

What a bunch of useless bankers.

Still waiting for a reply from them, 8 days on. So much for the: We will respond as quickly as possible, normally within 24 hours

£5 now refunded - another A+L/Santander error to add to all the rest.

What bothers me is the number of reports in here from people who've been told things about the minimum increasing to £1000 pm, or having to leave the money there for 4 days. I'll try to get a sensible answer out of them, but not much hope - it's probably not entirely their fault, but the staff don't have a clue what's going on.

Thank God my real bank is First Direct!
