Hi janeloz
Try putting some paper - brown is better - over the wax and iron on top of the paper on a warm setting first then increase the heat if needed. The wax should come off on the paper. This has worked twice for me . Paige XX0 -
Put greaseproof paper on it and run over it with a hot iron. It should absorb the wax. You can probably freeze it and chip it off if that doesnt workWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0

Thanks, I'll try that.

warm iron and brown paper or paper towels. pick off the worst of it first...chilling it first in freezer can help too. then lay paper on top and use warm iron to melt wax, paper should soak it up.x x x0

dogrose beat me to it, but her tip is spot on - I've done this myself and know it works

GT568, hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread, but this was perfect timing for me! I've just come on here to ask for help too
The wax from a red candle has just overflowed out of its holder and onto my cream carpet!
Will this tip work on carpet too (obviously I can't put it in the freezer first)?

Hi,
We have an older thread on removing candle wax off almost anything so I've merged this thread with it as it helps to keep all the replies together.

Glad I'm not the only one
I've just read the earlier replies in the thread and am a bit worried after reading that red wax on a white carpet is the worst, as the red leaves a stain
Right, am off to get my iron and brown paper out!0
