We were watching Most Haunted last night and lit some candles to add to the spooky atmosphere. When blowing the candles out DS sprayed wax over his cotton top. How can I remove this or is the top a goner? Any advice would be appreciated."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

You could try ironing it onto brown paper. use a medium hot iron and keep moving the paper around to absorb the wax. you put the top down first and the paper over it and iron the paper“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Thanks to all who posted. I had forgotten that I had used this very trick to remove candle wax from carpet after a similar mishap. Will try that this afternoon. Thanks again."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hi Guys
Does anyone know of a magic formula for getting wax out of my carpet. I have heard of the iron/brown paper method, but haven't tried it yet. Was wondering if there were any alternatives.
Cheers all.0 -

yes it does work - draws it out and gets absorbed into the paperHave done it myself.

yes me too, in fact white paper bag would do or any white papaer (not the shiny kind). Be sure NOT to have the iron on too hot, low would do it. If the iron is too hot you may burn the carpet.Ladymac0

You can use kitchen roll or a towel. Both work perfectly. If you use kitchen roll, use it double if it's a cheapy one & be sure to use enough so that the iron won't come into direct contact with the carpet. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I have spilt some candle wax on one of my favourite skirts !:o It is thin courderoy and has several small splashes. Can anyone tell me how to get them off?
