Hi, I worked in a spa where paraffin wax was used in a treatment(pretty much candle wax) and we used brown paper and a medium to hot iron to remove when drips and spills were noticeable on the carpet(some rather large spills occasionally), anyway, if you try this method place the brown paper over the wax melt with medium to hot iron and leave for about 30 seconds to a minute before lifting off.

I've read so many times how you can get candle wax out of fabric by ironing some newspaper over the spots but today is the first time I've ever tried it and it works a treat!

It really does......and even when it's an unusual fabric. I once used this to get candle wax out of the long fur of an expensive toy cat and when I'd finished, he only needed the tiniest little trim and he looked as good as new!

Yes, it's a life saver! I once so so sooo foolishy used a CANDLE as a paperweight to hold a top on my storage heater to dry it- really who does that?!!?!! It was caked in wax but after lots of ironing it was gone!

  • I used some baking parchment when some wax got on a table runner, and it worked a treat!

I was really impressed;I hadn't thought that it would take it all off.

Remember my gran doing this to remove candle-grease from a tablecloth. The old remedies work the best!

Hello, I had a power cut the other night and a candle when picked up to be blown out just split in half and wax is on the carpet. I have googled and all I can find is put kitchen roll over the wax and iron on low hit. I thought id ask on here if people know if this works or has better idea as I trust people on here more than google post. Any help or advice will be gratefully appreciated
it might not be much, but its better than a kick in the teeth:rotfl:

Grease proof paper over it, and gently iron it, paper will soak up candle wax. It takes time if there's lots, but it works.

Edit, speed read title....what you looked up works but grease proof paper is what i've done.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
