    Hi all

Could you put me down for £80 in July, please.

Came under budget last month but only because i was on holiday for 2 weeks. I did a large shop for fresh stuff etc when i got back, as the fridge was empty, so hopefully this should last me into next week at least.

Am trying to eat more heathily after over indulging on my hols (but isn't that what holidays are for?) so buying more fruit, veg and fish, so will have to watch the budget very carefully.

    Hi

Can you out me down for 200 for july please.

Havent done this challange in months as got dishearted by failing.

But july /august expensive month with car mot/tax, daughetr needs, uniform, shoes and coat for starting primary in september and wouldent surprise me if baby needs first pair walking shoes.

Did 60quid shop in lidls last nite can I count that as july as needs to last us until 15th until hubby gets paid.

Im determined to bring costs down further by
more batchcooking/freezing doing huge lasagne later.
    baking more bread
    baking more cakes and biscuits.
foraging what i can picked tonnes of strawberries and wilod cherries.
shopping round more was predominantly sainsbury due to nectar card but might go morrisions for fish, co-op fantastic reductions, carboot sale plus growing tonnes in garden this year whic exites hubby.

Im not sure why we keep going over so much

we drink alchol maybe once a week usually whats on offer wine or beer.
fruit can be pricey but finding lidls a godsend.
Daughter and hubby take packed lunches.
9month old eats lots even more than 4year old try gety healthy snacks and meals for them so breadstocks, pitta with dips, hommade pizzas, lots fruit/veg.

what bulk of overspend goes on in my opinion is

    crisps and biscuits
    soft drinks-daugters a squash monster
sometimes meat especially poultry as we buy free range.
we get through silly amounts of milk so might force hubby get iceland once a week as got large enough fridge/freezer we get through 4pints a day for 2adults, 1 4yearold mostly cereals and coffee.

Can I go down for £210 for July please. That's for 2 adults, 3 children, and doesn't include toiletries.

It's only a 3-week month for us, as we're on holiday the last week and that's on a seperate budget. The freezer is reasonably stocked - with the hot weather we didn't cook as often last month as planned, so I have about 7-10 days of 'proper' meals already in hand.

Started with a NSD on Monday (yay :D), and spent £22.79 yesterday on milk, fruit, juice and sandwich fillings. I have a large Asda delivery booked for tomorrow for the rest of the meals, plus a month worth of cheese and cereal, and need about £20 stuff from Sainsburys while the offers are still on, but then I should be clear through to early next week for fruit/milk/bread, and the end of the month for everything else.

If I go over this month, it comes out of the holiday budget, so I'm hoping to keep it well under control.

    Hi,
i've not ever budgeted before on food but times have changed and I need to be very aware of what I am spending.
For this month I will monitor everything that is spent. I think I can spend £80 p/week on groceries max but will see how it goes.
    Can target from there
    thanks

    Afternoon

Just got my first 'July' delivery from T*sco a day early due to having no food left.

They sent me a code for free delivery over £100 so I have used that and stocked up on loo roll, washing powder etc hopefully for the month.
The plan is not to have another delivery before 13/7 so we'll see how it goes!

Good luck to everybody for July :)
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
