CupofChai, I don't add my meals out to my grocery budget. They come out of my fun budget. Also whoever asked about fruit and veg I just buy a few bits from Aldi, whatever I like on the Super 6 that week. Also I buy frozen peas and lots of tinned toms but there's only me to feed so maybe £5/6 a month all in.

lovelife - I know that feeling sooooooo well, and can totally understand your excitement over the savings. When I started work at our local Mr M (last November) a lot of the staff already 'knew' me from my looking over their shoulders/picking things up for them to process next on a regular basis ;)

First spend of the month (in various shops, one of the advantages of having OH at home). My month runs four weekly, so I have decided to split my budget into 2 and do shopping for two weeks. So far, so good, but off to Mr Ts this morning, must really try to only get the mushrooms I'm going for!
  • Hello I'm completely new here :)

Would really love to join July's challenge, although it my 'financial' month doesn't really start until next Tuesday! No worries though, I have done most of my shopping for the rest of this week.

Please put me down for £150 for July. This will include our food, household stuff, toiletries and nappies. It won't include pet food, petrol, playgroup fees and shoes for DS :D

  • cupofchai thanks fo the reminder toiletries and cleaning stuff got enough for at least 2-3months so will not be needing anymore now the£100 sounds more doable however i do wonder how i would make £100 stretch if i had to buy everything i mean nothing in to fall back on if money all gone esp as the possibility of being put on a pre pay meter before christmas power or food hmmm too scarey to think right now thats why i hope this challenge will help me and maybe someone else along the way its only took me two years to figure out how to join in and even then had a bit of help
