Thanks Muffin man 7. What a good idea! I think I can definitely manage that.

Wish meal planning was as easy as that! I still haven't actually started that despite my good intentions earlier in the day.

OK, after failing miserably AGAIN in June I am really really cutting back this month to avoid penury. So please put me down for £108 in July. Thanks!

    Hi All,

Thanks Pink, MrsM and rosieben for the thread and keeping us going. :A

I have to run but please MrsM can I be put down for £240 again for July please?

This is the same as last month even though we look like being well under but I have a BIG birthday coming up in August and so OH may need some 'flexibility' as he, my DD and close friends arrange the celebration and may need to buy stuff in advance.

Good luck everyone for the new month.

    Take care,
    Spigs

Hi everyone, not done this before but thought I'd give it a go. Can you put me down for £100 for July please? To include all foods/drinks I buy but I'm not including toiletries or cleaning products in this. Hopefully to be reduced in future!

Haven't decided yet whether I want to keep a separate budget/total for meals out or whether to lump them in with my groceries. What do other people do for that?

    Hi,

Can I rejoin the challenge please :D

I have set a budget for July of £120 for just me

I'm determined to stick to it as I have a freezer stuffed full of food and need to work through this lot and my next food shop is for basics (fruit, milk and pop) on Thurs or Fri.

    Many thanks

Thanks to Pink, MrsM & Rosieben for a shiny new thread and all your hard work :)

This will be my first attempt, and so I'm trying to be realistic given that I used to spend best part of £400pcm on food before I lost my job. So, Mrs M, could you put me down for £275 please if you'd be so kind :)

Hopefully, I'll come in close to budget and so will be able to work on
    reducing it even further

Month runs from 1st-31st July inclusive

    Good Luck to everyone

Please put me down for £300 I know i failed dismally last month on £100 more, but i was counting in everything, alcohol, tobacco, toiletries and other incidentals. Feel much more focused and on the ball and have learnt loads from reading everybodies posts, thank you!!
Last month was a warm up!! I feel like the whoopsie queen, and hubby and i are now like a military operation at 7.15 pm in our local Mr A when they make the final markdowns of the day, when there are three yellow stickers that is the final price. Last week we got three packets of roast beef from the deli counter all had been around the £2 mark we got them for 25p each, we have had fish and chips for two for 10p and lots of other bargains. Hubby was embarrassed to begin with because sometimes you have to loiter as the final reductions are being made, but now he is a total convert :j It feels like a mission each evening, we split, lol, i do the deli, he does the fruit and veg and then we meet up at the bread. We get such a buzz! Just had a lovely Covent Garden Carrot and Coriander Quiche for tea, from £2 to 50p. Most of the time we get whoopsie bread for 10-20p if not i am using the breadmaker. Kids love it too and can't wait to see our bargains each evening.
Home grown salad and veg starting to make an impact too, our first year of growing, and 36 bottles of wine will be bottled by next weekend. I can honestly say i have never been happier :)
