Google the thread title and moneysavingexpert.com, then play around with the search options to find more cached versions - about as technical as I get!

I don't think you'll get the later pages as they are too recent, worth having a play though!

that would result in a single post being removed. Even very difficult threads are usually locked with the offending posts removed and the rest intact.

You could email Abuse. They don't always reply though, though say they don't have to give reasons.

Cached versions are in effect screen shots, it will not take you to other hidden pages unfortunately.

It's very very unusual for a whole thread to disappear. Do you think there's a possibility that someone involved has contacted MSE and asked for it to be removed?

I am sure the OP would have been contacted by MSE towers if that was to happen.

Maybe its because it veered into legal territory. You mentioned a visit to the police and a record of an incident. I know on other forums I use that would be removed.

the opening post contained a word that had been altered to get around the MSE swear filter
if a post is deleted because of this and it is the opening post of a thread then the thread goes too
