Morning all, glad to see you all again.

Mike, keep throwing those sticks...the last ones I chucked seem to have done the trick for now.

As for 21 yos...mine are 19 and (nearly) 23...and my "baby" is off to uni in 11 days (am I counting?!!). It's going to be a new start for us, DH and me on our own again, if only for a few months at a time, is it wrong to be excited about this?!!

Need to get going this morning with some paid work at home. Been working for 5 days in a row: 2 in shop, one product launch in Birmingham, then 2 mmore days in shop while boss was away. Not sure if I could go back to this full-time working lark all the time though!!

Enjoy the lovely weather...hope it's not too hot for you Mike x

Thanks Keiss21, so it's not you that's '21' then, clearly!

SOOOO many people seem to have MH difficulties... one in four according to Jeremy Vine and Martin Lewis today. Good vibes to all who suffer. Glad to hear work has picked up, whatever it is you do.

I doubt either of my chaps will go to university. Jack's a total entrepreneur these days and the small one's getting job offers every week. Another interview tomorrow. He'll be fine. I brought them up expecting to have lots of jobs rather than one big one that could explode in their face subject to the whims of some idiot seagull manager.

I think it's perfectly OK to look forward to a usually empty nest. Knock yourself out.

Yes, it's too hot for me but only in the afternoons now. I have a fan a bit like like the ones they use on film sets to create hurricanes.

One of the grandchildren of a previous owner of the cottage is coming here for lunch this weekend and may bring some old pix of themselves playing here when they stayed with the servants as children around 50 years ago. Should be interesting.

I wouldn't expect my servants to look after my kids. They're too busy making iced smoothies for me anyway.

Your weekend visitors sound very interesting Mike, I hope you will be able to get copies of the photo's.

It will be nice for them to see what has happened to The Dolls House, I hope they approve.

The boys sound like they are doing really well, such great lads, I have no doubt that they will be successful in whatever they choose to do.

Yeah have you tried jogging and healthy eating Mike? Find my health depends a lot on that....

And a tidy house (think Fly lady :j) or get a slave (21 yo LOL or Butti ;))

Had to get SF put to sleep on Thursday. So been a little anxious for a few days but recovering nicely now...

Has anyone seen Bookman Bike lights? I paid about £20 for mine including postage and wondering what they'll be like? Any ideas? They look mega practical and they have lithium batteries in them. Designer is fine....in small quantities and so long as it's practical

  • They were very pleasant. Hadn't seen the house for 40 years, so were amazed that the outside was now white!

I think they liked it, and had some stories about when the husband and his family stayed here as a lad. They brought some photographs taken in the square of their families and one of the house.

Just watching DIY SOS in Wales. Having said Julia Kendall hardly ever loses her rag they had a shot of her losing it outside a certain small house on the south coast!
