Sent from my iPad from behind the sofa.

Just got a smartphone. No idea what I'm doing :rotfl:
Had to ask this guy in a pub to set the time and ask my friend how I answered it!

Have managed to put in those contacts who have texted me!

Nthing is the problem, I'm guessing that Butti isn't overly knowledgeable about new-fangled technology? :p

Because I had a functioning mobile there was no need to change.
I am very pleased for you and your ability to use your smart phone.
There is no problem, I am merely a person with a smart phone who has never had a smart phone before.

Not being able to answer your new smart phone when it rings is part of the initiation process.

I couldn't answer mine. Neither could my friend. And a handful of others.

Then we saw a toddler, who had the right swipe of the thumbs and we realised what we were supposed to do. And also what luddites we are!

My 6-year-old Nokia smartphone died this week. I have hated it since I got it but it at least had a tiny QWERTY (UIOP{) keyboard.

I have been using a £10 Samsung thing since. Its battery seems to last forever and it does all the usual text nonsense.

So you are expecting me to say that I wouldn't swap it for anything now?

    You are all wrong.

I have an iPhone 5 on order, due in a couple of weeks.

Which will be a step forward from my being able to receive but not compose messages as the Samsung has some sort of predictive texting, which I - yes I - have failed to master. When I receive a text I have to reply from my PC, or call them back to reply. I am on PAYG. This is not good.

I expect Butti has her reasons and is now fully competent in the use of her new phone.

I just can't believe she was in a pub...

    Love you loads. x
  • WOW an iphone 5 i am in awe of you mike :) im still with my iphone 4 and am looking forward to when the contract is up and i can get simplicity for cheaps :) hehe if i had to choose a bog standard phone now i dont think i would know how lol :O xx
