All OK thanks. Nearest floods 500 yards away on South Terrace. (Well worthwhile paying that little extra on the council tax).

Horrible for those affected. Basement living can't be much fun even when you don't wake up and watch the cat swim past. And the places will be uninhabitable for a year or more.

Glad you're okay Mike, though commiserations for all those affected. We had floods up here about 12 years ago and there was a lot of throwing out and rebuilding... I remember a friend lost the contents of her washing machine because the power went off mid-cycle and didn't come back on till everything had gone mouldy - but that was only part of it because of carpets and everything else that was contaminated by flood water. If affects people in ways you wouldn't think of.

A friend heard water running and opened the front door. That's when the trouble started... Whole bungalow under 3 foot of water Everything except photos and phone went in a skip. She could be living in a caravan for a long time.
