Love all the details of the history you now have - well done those two sisters. Did they record the program? if not I am sure someone can arrange a copy for them.
Last but not least. Would your local paper be willing to pay you for an update and the latest revelations? It has a lovely christmassy feel good facture - you could always try. There is an old Dutch saying, "NO, you have, YES, you could always get". :rotfl:
J:cool:x
They don't give you the deeds nowadays, it's all on the Land Registry computer. although I'm sure I could get a copy. My sister had a look on a census site for 1911 and the house wasn't named, possibly because it was just a shed where they kept their lawnmowers (and servants!) Seems the big house might have been a Lodging house before they bought it in 1925.
I think the good people of Littlehampton have had enough of TDH for a while! And local papers don't pay for anything. Maybe it's of more interest to those who have been here - and me of course.0 -

OK if everyone's happy for me to guess their size...

I might have the height but don't think I have the body any longer for the latter one!! Never thought I would see the day when I said oh the Rose costume will be fine. Having walked the boards have always enjoyed being in costume, but the time always comes when you have to realise you have to face the truth - I'm old!!
Pah! If you're old, then so am I.
Oh, hang on...0 -
We got the deeds to our house when we moved here in 1995. They go all the way back to 1709, when it was sold to pay towards the death duties of some Earl or other.
Still not sure when it was actually built...must do some research in the New Year. It's only a small farm/orchard worker's cottage, but comes with 180 foot long garden (only 20 feet wide though!). It's fun reading the various deeds finding out what and how many animals they could have in the garden!!
Good luck with your TDH history search Mike!
As for feeling old...you're only as old as you feel (or the person you're feeling! :rotfl:)

Sounds like you're being modest...It's only a small farm/orchard worker's cottage
OK maybe you aren't!
What is it that makes 'a small farm/orchard worker's cottage' sound all bucolic and Vicar of Dibley? I love it already. I must give you the name of my builders...0 -
So what's everyone doing On The Day?0
