Hi!
Still here and loving you, but swamped with stuff related to moving house... and that doesn't even include all the paperwork.
The house is working fine - I wouldn't change anything. Just making a few tweaks to get it how I like it (like moving onto a new PC - you want things where you're used to finding them.)
Have only seen a couple of friends as I wanted the place to look tidy and be 'mine' but now scanning the address book for people who remember how it was.
Constant stream of people looking through the window and staring at the plaque on the wall. I am definitely public property! I can't imagine what it will be like after the show goes out. It has apparently been edited and is looking good. Something to look forward to.
The expected come-down has arrived, unsurprisingly; just need to recharge a bit and try to relax, which isn't easy after three years on the edge. Boys love it here, and it will be a good summer, then I hope to start to do some work in the autumn and get my mojo back. Smart houses take a bit of money to keep going, and occupants and visitors need food.
It's the beginning of a new phase for me, and I'm extremely grateful and aware how lucky I was and how cool everyone's been.

Great to see you posting Mike, we have missed your unique slant on life and it's trials and tribulations :j
Don't hide away from your friends, they don't care about a few boxes or a bit of a mess. They care about you and want to see that you are no longer living in the awful situation that you were. They can see what it is like as a show house when the programme airs but will see what it is like as a real lived in home that you are still settling in to when they visit.
I still think you should have a collection box outside and charge all the nosey parkers for a peek - they don't have to know what charity it is for :rotfl:
I am so pleased that the boys love it and hope that you all have a great summer chilling out and enjoying the surrounding - what I would give to be on that beach right nowOne of my friends always tells people she is lighting the barbie and we turn up with things to throw on it - nice cheap way of getting together and feeding everyone
Please, please keep posting. We can help you through the down periods with our stupidity and I am sure Psycho will have more questions she needs answering now she is responsible for her own home and all that is in itAlso, if you find your Mojo, can you tell me how you did it, mine seems to have gone AWOL at the moment
Can you and the boys have a group hug and pretend it is from me please - failing that I will have to come back and do it myself and you don't want that!
Sorry if I have rambled......

Now you mention it Maty.... I do have lots of questions, although it involves insurance this time.... how the hell do I know what type of lock I have and what the roof is made of?! Is my roof technically not the floor of the flat above us?

Hmmmm, locks & insurance - I hate those questions . If you are trying to do it online it may be a bit tricky. May be worth giving one of the usual suspects a call for a quote first and using them to answer all the questions and then go online when you know the answers
Locks - If you are in a block of flats they may be more interested in the main door to the block rather than your own front door. Like does it have an entry control system, is it a chubb lock or yale type. Or worse, is it just left open. Also, is it one of those that you lift a handle up - as you do that it shoots bolts in to the frame and is more secure (don't know what they are called though :rotfl: )
They may want to know which floor you are and which one, how many other floors and from that they can work out that maybe you don't have a roof as such!
I am assuming you are only looking for contents insurance as the building should be covered by the landlord I believe.....
Failing that, isn't there a useful forum to fire questions at
