Just watching you again on one of the Sky channels! First time I've seen a repeat.

Oh good. Another stream of people staring into my kitchen window while I'm having my tea!

Ah bless Mike. I know its a bit of a pain but when you think back to where you were 18 months ago a few noses against your window is a small price to pay....and you can always drink your tea in the conservatory.

I was thinking about this today while waiting for my bus (which it turned out had broken down!)

It's like you're trying to swim to shore in choppy seas. Some days are better than others, some days you're not moving or even going backwards. But before May last year wasn't it like trying to swim with someone's foot on your head?

Sky will get bored with you eventually, surely! Till then tea in the conservatory.

You know how grateful I am!

I pressure-washed the decking today to apply 'your' oil tomorrow. Doubt I'll sleep tonight!

Very disappointed to get a message from someone today saying she been conned by the same builder. Not sure when it happened but it sounds as though he is still at it. I wonder when the police will become interested?

So Paul Bridle of Horsham is still conning innocent people out of their hard earned dosh while masquerading as a proper builder?????

How sad and awful and disgusting is that  I wonder how he sleeps at night.

Maybe some of the standard checks people should do before employing any builder are:
    - a credit check with one of the big 3 credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax, Dun & Bradstreet) If you don't understand the information it contains find a friendly accountant, or someone that will understand, to read it for you.
    - to see if they have any county court judgements against them (Trustonline.org)
    - a look on the insolvency register (insolvency.gov) to see if they are personally insolvent or barred as a Director.
    - Google their name, area, occupation

Yes, some of it may cost you a little bit of money. But it will be ££'s not £Thousands.

Remember, Paul Bridle came recommended to Mike so that is not enough to ensure that you do not get ripped off :(

It is good to know that if you Google Paul Bridle builder or Paul Bridle Horsham these MSE threads still come up near the top. They don't if you just google his name though :(

Old habits are hard to break. This time last week I still needed to be up and on the road by 7.30. And next week Rodders will want me up and about early so I am not trying too hard to break the habit!

PS Richard & Judy haven't been on for ages - It is Phil & Holly now :D
