    Hi all!

I hadn't forgotten... just increasing the tension. (Not really).

Yep, a whole year! Didn't it go quickly?

The place is still standing and has been almost totally reliable. Everything just... works!

I still haven't done all the little jobs, but did put a curtain pole up this week in the living room as a friend gave me some nice cream curtains. I need to shorten them, but it will be great in the winter as the conservatory gets nippy. And it makes the stereo sound much better (less echo). I realised as I was doing it why I haven't done the other things... I don't want to do anything that's not really perfect and professional. Well that's one reason. Not having a clue how to do it is another.

While the house is its own monument, I think the long-lasting memory for everyone, including me, is the way so many people came together, often overcoming personal difficulties to do so.

    Amazing people.

I am as grateful today as I was that first night a year ago. And almost as excited.

    Thanks peeps.

  • Hiya guys!

Seems we've all been reflecting on last years events. Lots I wanted to say but wasn't sure if I should, don't think all my personal difficulties were overcome tbh. I surprised myself at how involved I was with your thread last year, my head always tells me 'what use am I' and 'will I fit in' so I can't tell you how nervous I was when I made my first post, didn't think it would be noticed to be honest..I was fine with that, I was good at being invisible and had lots of practice...I'd been very reclusive for 7years. I probably had depression for longer than that. It knocked me on my aris!

So a year ago, I was throwing up, mouth full of ulcers leading up to meeting everyone. I was a wreck! Desperate to meet you all but fearing that all these lovely people that seemed to like me on the thread, friends that I'd made...wouldn't actually like me when they met me. I felt a fraud, especially with kindly compliments being posted, I was the one being carried through last year by all of you. the reason I remember post and page numbers is because I'd re-read all the highs and lows over and over, you guys weren't just lifting Mike's sprirts, you were lifting mine too. I had the best time ever! Mike's right, you're all amazing so can I thank you too, miggy was spot on....the thread was like food for the soul!

Mike...you've been the most amazing of all, look what you created! You brought out the very best in people, you brought out the best in me....not bad for an ordinary bloke! Thanks for listening and for nudging me to rejoin the land of the living. I think the friendships made are as solid as your funny little house!

So anyhooo.. thought I'd turned a corner, came home and wouldn't you know it, RL went and knocked me on me a55 again!!! Back to la la land, I function better as a crank with quirks....I just don't function every day!

Spent most of the year looking for my mojo, should have looked here first...found it!

Sorry I've been awol for so long (i'm a work in process) but knowing where you all are is what helps me get back on my feet again. Thanks Mobsters! xxx Thanks Mike!xxx

PS...Am also looking forward to seeing you all again and finally getting to meet more of you, just can't think about it too much....I'll throw up! (nothing personal!)
pps....Mike, shall I bring the sewing machine...I can't alter curtains, I only work with checks but I think some of your mob can sew!!!
PPPS...Nick Knowles is quitting the BBC..and DIY SOS, how sad is that? I think he said he had the time of his life being involved with DIY SOS....he's not the only one.

SB - and everyone who has been involved in the original thread, the project and this thread - I think if I am honest I thought the same as SB at the beginning "who would want to hear my opinion". We all have skeletons that we don't admit to. Being on here we were all annoymous and then thanks to our actions we were being asked to meet up . Others would get to know what we looked like, how useless we actually were etc., Some of you did it - actually meet up and worked hard, proved that you were that important part of a team. SB you are very special, never think anything else, to all of us on here. Happy, Miggy and me kept the flag flying during the rebuild and reveal, but we now have to face our demons if we are going to the p****c. This thread has been amazing and I have missed the friendship since the reveal, but am grateful for all the virtual friends who have supported me and kept me going in my times of need. Thank you one and all - Mike answer please or I may get cold feet!!!!:o Billie xx

Billie - DO NOT GET COLD FEET, we do not bite and we are just normal guys and gals just like you. We got on, quirks and all.

The fact that some of us made it to Littlehampton does not make us a more important part of the team. Every single person that posted on the thread or sent emails to the producer is important.

    Sorry, rant over :D

PS Date is still under discussion, we are not ignoring you, honest ;)
