Is the isolater switch unrelated to the water heater? I think I have an immersion heater which can be put on timer, which is separate to the isolater switch!!
Also, not leaving my job.... the one I was talking about is just ad-hoc.
Hope you are enjoying the glorious weather x
If you run the shower and switch off the red switch and the shower stops or goes cold, it's an instantaneous heater. It will only use lecky while it's on and is probably running off the mains pressure water.
It might be an isolator for a pumped hot water system shower where the water's heated by an immersion on a timer, or a gas boiler? In that case set the timer or programmer to heat water an hour before you need it, usually the morning and evening. There will be a thermostat so that once heated, the system goes to standby. If it's installed properly you just need to set the temperature of the water you're storing.
Most gas or oil systems which store water in a tank in the airing cupboard also have an electric immersion heater in the hot water tank as an emergency standby.
That'll be fifty quid plus the VAT if you've got your handbag handy love. Less a tenner for letting me feel all clever and manly.0 -
I have done nothing except sort boxes, go to the tip, wash every item of clothing I own, rewire the home cinema thingy, clean the kitchen floor, water the flowers and jump on empty cardboard boxes.
You're right, I need to do something else. But it is so damn hot... much too hot to sit on the beach. My little places would be lobsterised in minutes.0 -
Thanks.... I think the shower is an instantaneous heaty one. I'll let myself off the fee for making you feel all manly and helpful. If you weren't so far away, I'd even let you come and put a couple of curtain poles up! How nice am I?

Just checking in to prove I do read the thead. I hope you are enjoying your house now Mike, have you finished sorting out your junk yet???
A friend of mine is having a BBC programme made about renovating her house, it had been empty for 4 years when she bought it and they have more or less rebuilt it including having a new thatched roof put on. The builder went yesterday to start demolishing the old kitchen, when she got home she found the dining room flooded.....no idea what had happened........and no sign of the builder!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
