Awww how lovely!
Now stop saying nice things, it's making me cry, and that is not the done thing for a boring ol' grey accountant :P0 -

She hasn't asked me about that yet...!0 -
I was thinking more a vivid red - sadly my flatmates are opposed to the idea!
Mike,
I was trying to persuade Nick Knowles to pop up to my boyfriends flat and convert his vivid red living room ceiling to cream/magnolia/something innocuous* He wasn't keen, but seems he's not keen on DIY!!!
T'other Mike in the Dolls House - was just thinking of you today and your comment on the show about convincing conmen, as I was showing a potential lodger round the house. Now have to think of a reason to say NO. I have a week.

Hi Mike
Well after briefly reading Martin's tips last night at 1am I just caught sight of the DIY SOS link. So I read your first ever post and naturally popped on iPlayer. You are the reason I didn't go to sleep until 3am last night Mike... all your fault!! :rotfl:
As a budding/wannabe property developer at 26 years old I am amazed how much the DIY SOS crew did in 6 days... I would be impressed to have that much done in 6 MONTHS!!
Still, I am really glad they were able to help you and your two sons out. As they are probably a few years younger than myself I am impressed that there are other youngsters out there with a certain level of maturity that some mid-life men and women should be envious of so hats off to them... although I think the dramatic circumstances you found yourselves in probably made helped them mature faster!!
Did you have a good Christmas with a proper tree and everything this year?
I'm a proper man and therefore fight very hard in films/tv shows to show any forms of emotion/tears but I felt a mini tear brewing towards the end!! I hope the road to your emotional/physical/financial recovery is better now!!
I know I am a new member to MSE but I have been browsing for over a year... and I never expected such a response from a forum to get a TV show to help. That's amazing - just when my hope for human civilization had gone - "saints" come out of the woodwork... so fair play to them!!
Take care

Mike (Lisa),
I saw the story in Martin's weekly email, and what a story it is eh? Just watched the TV show on the iPlayer and was bowled over and like Chris (poster above), there may have been a mini-tear forming as the credits rolled...
Enjoy the new chapter of your life, all the best to you and your lads for the future.0 -

Hi Mike
I have just watched DIY SOS and am so thrilled for you and your lovely boys. What a terrible time you've been through but what a great family you are. Your boys knocked my socks off with their love for you, their sensitivity and their loyalty. Whatever the state your house was in you are lucky to have them and vice versa.
Your house looks fantastic and I hope you'll have a wonderful time living there over the coming years.
Dreams do come true
All the best for the future
