I now have heard of them. I made the mistake of using Credit Expert to match with a suitable lender and completed an application for a Vanquis Card in re I am still awaiting result. I am now being plagued by texts and calls from a variety of pay day loan companies including a text this morning from Aspire asking me to call them re my credit card application...0

noticed this thread and thought I should throw in my tuppence worth. My Experian report is ok, kept my nose clean for over a year, paid off cards and dumped them etc and according to Experian I should qualify for a loan from most outlets as I'm pretty average in the great scheme of things. So...surprise, surprise when I looked at loans on Credit Expert they handed me off to these guys! aye right! I have gone to my bank and fingers crossed things work out although these days the 'average' person will struggle given the state of things.
They did call - within a nano second of accessing the Credit Expert screens! - but I had read this by the time I answered them (awesome site!). When I said I wasnt interested you wouldnt believe how quickly they hung up! practically mid-sentence. These companies are sons of !!!!!es that will fleece you for every penny.

But did you Opt Out of the marketing calls??
Reply #26 has quoted from the Terms which suggests unless you specifically chose to Opt Out, you are agreeing to be pestered all day, every day by these broker clowns.0 -
Looking at this thread, I thought I would give my opinion on Aspire Money as I have had a loan with them recently and have found my experience to be sum wat different.
I received about 9 calls from them, when I finally did answer i completed my application and I have now received the finance (although it did take 16 days as I had to visit a branch). They didn't charge any fees or even ask for my bank details so I don't know what everyone's going on about. The APR I got was 18.9% (I thought I had a better credit rating than that but, I'm desperate) Also the loan amount was lower than I was looking for. Thank you Aspire Money.0 -
Hi,
Me and my partner have £5700 credit between us and are looking for £2000 extra for a house deposit as it seems to be our last optiontried money supermarket today and was given the result Aspire Money.....thought it was a bit dodgy as i had never heard of them before so decided to google them and came across this post. Sounds like a total scam but has anyone other than jonesdee managed to get a loan off these people? as that loan didnt seem particularly brilliant (less money at a higher interest rate) and if so how have they found them?

Always treat one post wonders with a large portion of caution.
This type of lender regularly flood forums with positive reviews under different names, hence the low post count.

I had a call from them today after clicking the further info button on Experian website. I listened to what they had to say and what they could offer. Both were utter mince, including 2nd option of a company would write to my finance company's that I wanted to consolidate, and I would pay them x amount over so long which would cut my monthly payments in half, probably pay about 20 years longer.
I rabbited on to them about my reason's for turning it down and not wanting to procede then told them not to call me back.
Hopefully I don't hear back from them. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
Its really does make me angry when people say "I dont mind paying a big apr to improve my credit rating" or "18.9% is not a bad rate"
Wake up people, you are being robbed of thousands of pounds by the lazy spiv's in the city of london.
If you break the credit cycle you don't need to borrow there usury money.
Don't roll over and take it and things will change for the better.
Rant over, feeling better nowThe world is full of usury.
Use microsoft excel to write down all money in and all money out.

I am another person that was contacted by aspire after filling in the credit expert report. I have - make that HAD - an excellent credit rating and was carrying out the search to ensure that I got the best interest rates for the loan that I wanted. Aspire contacted me and I know that I would not in any way have agreed to anything during that phone call. However, they passed on my information to all the short term loan companies with ridiculously high interest rates. I have been inundated with emails agreeing loans for between £300 and £3,000.... and of course now my credit rating is affected and I cannot actually get the loan that I wanted to get, and would have been able to get if all these unnecessary searches had not been carried out.
Needless to say I am furious and now have to spend my time and money on phone calls to get this resolved. FYI - although it is a UK number, apparently this company is based in South Africa which is why the call lines are so bad.
Be very very careful if they contact you - and they will about a millions times.0
