Like Bobby above - I can only comment on my own experience this week with the same telephone numbers quoted throughout this thread.
I am appalled at the level of contact (telephone calls and texts) from this company. I too clicked a link through Credit Expert but after the first call they made to me, I was nervous about the quality and legitimacy of the company based on the caller and said that I was not interested in applying for a loan or any other form of credit with them.
Since then I have been bombarded with calls and there is never anyone there. Now, I know how the system works - they have an outbound computer generated calling system. This means that my mobile number is in the system and makes calls out, if I answer the system then looks for a member of staff to connect the call, but if all staff are busy I believe that the call will simply hang - to you and me that sounds like silence or a hang up. These are nuisance calls in my view and should not be permitted in a Financial Service organisation.
I agree that Credit Expert should be ashamed of themselves allowing such a poor quality link to their site. I can only assume that the payment they receive for the click through outweights the negative impression that customers have of Credit Expert as a result - or maybe many customers have not identified that Aspire Money calls are from this source, given the number of times they hang up.
Like others here I am now worried about where my details are and who has them ... so I need to find out if Credit Expert have passed on more than my contact details and whether Aspire Money have carried out any form of Credit Check and if they have passed my details on to any other third party. I plan to investigate and pursue and will keep you posted.
I plan to contact the FSA, Credit Expert and Aspire Money with complaints along with the Daily Mail as this has the feel of the sort of story they might quite like (I have no strong views about the quality of the Mail by the way!).
Good luck to anyone who plans to take any positive action ... I will keep you informed of my efforts.

I'm in for this too Mark. I will be contacting CreditExpert for their explanation as to why they just freely gave out my details. I will also be contacting the information commissioner's office (01625 545745) to speak to them re. CreditExpert's handling of client details.
Watch this space!:mad:0 -
For the love of all that is Holy !!
Why on EARTH are YOU trying to call THEM??
Do you think a piece of your mind is going to stop them?
At least I can get it off my chest and have a go at them! Following my search on google it appears that many others have become victims too so it's about time something is done to stop them from affecting other people!0 -
^^ Thats all very well but you will most likely find as soon as they begin to realise what you are getting at, they may laugh/swear or otherwise ridicule you and slam the phone down before you get the next word out. Don't know about you but I would be hitting the roof if it happened to me.
There are lots of posts on here from people experiencing abuse from this type of lender.
Anyhooo..
Are you guys sure you didn't agree to be contacted following your dealings with Credit Expert??
https://www.creditexpert.co.uk/PrivacyInfo.aspxWe may also wish to pass your contact details to other selected organisations outside of the Group with whom we have a business relationship and which may wish to contact you about goods, services and events in which you may be interested. You will not receive such marketing unless you agree to do so.
In addition, we may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform services on our behalf such as credit card processors, data management firms or call centre providers and data may be hosted outside the European Economic Area by such companies.
We may use third-party advertising companies to serve advertisements about our products and services on our behalf.
Sounds awful to me, and also sounds like you are in for many many more of these calls from many different companies.0 -
Considering CreditExpert pride themselves on being a reputable financial company and are linked to Experian, quite frankly I am appalled at the way they treat customers and have no regard for customers confidentiality.
I wanted to check my credit report with Experian and so took advantage of CreditExpert's free months trial. The only problem being they insist on taking your debit card details before you are able to access your report, even if you tell them you don't want to continue with a monthly subscription.
After checking my report I looked at some of their personal loan offers and was immediately bombarded with emails and calls from dodgy loan companies and brokers, all using the £50 arrangment fee scam.
A month later I logged onto their website again, and although I didn't know it at the time, was immediately charged £7.99 which they took from the debit card I had used to access my report. I contacted them and asked them to delete my card details from their system in order to avoid the same thing happening again, but was shocked when they refused point blank to delete my card details and said they had the right to keep the details on their system for 2 years!!! In otherwords I can't log onto CreditExpert's website now without being charged £7.99, providing it is more than a month since I last did so. The only way I can avoid this happening again is to contact my bank and request they cancel my debit card and issue me with a new one!!!
CreditExpert should be ashamed of themselves for treating customer's confidentiality in this way. Unless requested to do so, they should not pass on loan enquiries to unscrupulous brokers just out to make a quick buck, and as for refusing to delete a customer's debit card details from their system, I'm not even sure if they have the right to do that. Surely any individual has the right to say who does and who doesn't have access to their bank account!!!
Use CreditExpert at your peril, and make it clear that once you have accessed your report, they delete your card details from their system, unless you don't mind paying £7.99 per month to see what every individual should have the right to see for free of charge!!!0 -
I've used Credit Expert before and had no such issues.
I took the 30 days free (due to my card being scammed of over £5k) and kept the subscription running for a few Months whilst things died down.
All you have to do is ring them and cancel. There is no pushy sales talk, just ask them to cancel. I paid nothing more.
A further point... NEVER click through ANY website if you have just plastered your bank details on a form.0 -
hi,
I too have held the subscription with experian for a few months after some issue with my address - they have charged me but not resolved the issue, needless to say.
I have now made the mistake to follow the link on their web site allegedly about loans and phoned aspire money - I was a bit suspicious and kept asking whether they would charge or refer on to someone who would charge... that was all declined, but after a few questions, the person said 'I pass you on to an expert who can help you further' - I had to shout at the person 3times NOT to put me through unless she told me what they were experts in - eventually she said 'dealing with you debt'. I told her inno uncertain terms NOT to call me again as I did not wish this kind of assistance.
Like so many of you, they have now been calling me 3 times per day at least. They HAVE to comply if you tell them to stop, however I don't know how to enforce that; tried consumerdirect today, but the lady had a bad day, will try again tomorrow
- I have written to experian and complained to them: this was in my eyes adding insult to injury - they had messed up my credit rating by not rectifiying the issue with my address in the first place and now landed me with this company. I have a feeling they'll say it's nothing to do with them, I should complain to aspire directly, but I thought it was worth pointing it out to them as they referred me.
Also, I am looking forward to soon cancelling my subs with experian - their business approach is scandalous me thinks ( I wished I had read all your stories much earlier).

I've found a brilliant way to get companies like this contacting you.
On the first instance, ask for all your details to be removed from their system.
Second instance, Inform them that you have already asked for your details to be removed, take their full name and tell them that if you are contacted again then you will report the company and them as an individual as they are breaching your rights by ignoring your request, and they can be held personally responsible and may get a fine for refusing to do so.
Has worked every time for me0
