If not how can you compare us?
For the record whilst my surgeon was cutting off a perfectly healthy breast that had never had an indication of having cancer I was a single mum to 3 young children, 2 of whom are autistic.
How can you judge me? Have you been through exactly the same experience's as me? Are you me?
Exactly no so you have no idea. You can sit there & say well I wouldn't be doing this or I wouldn't of done that but you don't know what you would do/feel as the samething hasn't happened to you.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 24 years old. I was a single mum & had a 2 year old & a 6 month old to take care off.
Obviously the fact I got depressed must mean that i'm weak minded despite the fact that other people also get depressed for no apparent reason.
I had to live for 9 years with constant mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies & MRI's which all took their toll on my mental health.
I am also autistic so feel more anxious/depressed about things anyway.
It seems to me that you older people have a chip on your shoulder & appear to be jealous of us younger people who have illness/disabilities. Your own live must be very sad if all you have to do is try to make people that are already struggling with mental health conditions actually feel worse.
No we all deal with things differently.
My point was would my extremely mutilated mother have lived a different life if the government had given her loads of money thus relieving her of the need to go out and work to help support us 5 kids. To actually live a full life.
Oh and you can't complain about having 2 disabled children and then be saying you want to have another. What if you had another disabled child? Given your already fragile health how would you cope?
No my mother wasn't autistic. However reading up on it my father probably was but we simply thought he had odd ways. One of our sons has many Asperger traits but why would we want him labelled? He has a job where neatness and order matter. Suits him.0 -

I have never complained about having disabled children & I wouldn't change them for the world. I was pointing out that as well as having cancer/surgery I was a single mother with 2 autistic sons, 1 of which had to go to a special school shortly after as his mainstream school said they couldn't meet his needs.
If I have another child the chances of it being autistic are alot lower as my daughter by a different father than my 2 sons isn't autistic as her father isn't.
Therefore a baby with my new non autistic partner probably won't be autistic either as it was having 2 autistic parents (myself & both of my sons father) that probably resulted in them both being autistic.
Even if it is autistic I won't care as my 2 sons make me proud everyday & from what ive seen of the general population autistic people are alot nicer.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

My understanding is that boys are more likely to be affected by autism than girls.0 -

If we all look hard enough we could probably find several ASD traits in ourself.
