nope.. it'll be shut as we'd be coming back Sunday night I aready thunked that.. I even thought about going onthe WAY there.. saturday lunchtime.. erm.. no ta... I'll go next week.. it won't make any difference really. If i don't feel up to it i can send OH with DD1.. we promised her a trip there anyway... for a hotdog!

No - don't go near on a Saturday . The hotdogs are one of the many reasons DH won't go - he nearly choked on one and ended up with a bruised gullet and hiatus hernia - lesson here is not to try stuffing remains of hotdog in whilst lifting a sofa into the car. ;)

Also got kids dressed, s/s kitchen, made remaining beds, hoovered, shouted at kids to be a bit less noisey and I'm now having tea. I will need to get some soap powder as I have 2 loads of washing and don't want Ben back again!

After my cuppa I will make my school list Mr A didn't have the things I was looking for so I will try at Dunbar store when I go on Wednesday to use their loo.

Well that amused me.. but I think I can quite safely state none of us will be lifting a sofa.. especially as we want chests of drawers x3 and 2 large bookcases which might not even fit in the car!!

We usually go midweek.. drop chimps at school, get there for opening.. and are out of there by lunchtime.. back for school pick up at 3.. after emptying the car and outting seats back etc..

    HI all.

I am getting an unfortunate insight to the type of male i am bringing up!. :o

DS1's girl friend has asked him to wear a 'shocking pink' bow tie to the prom. He has asked her to get it, with the explaination to her that "he may get the colour wrong" and the explaination to his brother of "s*d that for a game of soldiers"!!!!

The poor girl has also been hinting about a corsage.
DS1 has stuck a courgette on a ribbon and is going to claim a misunderstanding. DS2 is loving the idea.

    H:o

My DS just did not get the prom thing. He could not understand the girls going on about their outfits on facebook; starting to get ready early (he was playing cricket in the garden yesterday until 20 minutes before he went). I put the whole thing down to American tv.

The only worry is how hurt your DS's girlfriend is going to be on what is obviously for her an important day. If she has a cracking sense of humour fine but it sounds like she is pinning so much on this event does he really want her to remember her prom by being presented with a courgette.

Lunch eaten, WM on, ironing done but I haven't finished upstairs so off to do that next.

*H* ... maybe he could present her with the courgette first.. and have a proper corsage in reserve... I am sure he wouldn't want to spoil her evening.. I would probably not have gone to a prom had we had such things in the ancient times I was at school.. though I do think it is lovely they do something to commemorate them leaving high school now.

    Afternoon everyone
thanks for all your kind thoughts - I feel a bit flat today but will try not to dwell on it.

its getting very warm herm - not overy sunny though.
My Dn isnt coming until tomorrow now so i will maybe sit in the garden for a little while.

boddy everything crossed for funding for Mum - hope you dont have tooo long to wait
How many pots of jam will 2lb of blackcurrents make please?
Toots - tomorrow I'm playing the 3 bin shuffle, it is a a level I have yet to achieve. I hope that made you smile as I know you are sad at loosing your friend. Another star in heaven but it's not easy sweetie, take a huge hug from me xx
Dusty thanks for the hug honey - I needed them yesterday and thanks for the smile - well actually a giggle - I have visions of you running around to the benny hill music trying to do the bin shuffle - hope you manage to take it to new levels today!!!!:D ETA well done you :T:T:T
I dont know a lot about jam making but if my thinking is correct you put the same amount of sugar in so that would be 4lbs in total so you should get 3 and bit jars (because i think it boils down a bit!) I am sure the master jam maker (Valli) will be along to correct me!!

Natty well i knew what you were up to last week so I knew you would be here - hope you had a good week - as for toxic well you know what I think - you should forget her now - she has wiped you out of her life so you should do the same - its her loss of a beautiful friend - get the cheques paid in when you can and put an end to it - dont be hurt angel - if anything be a little angry that she has used you. But remember we are all here for you and love you and I for one love your bird tales!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
MOJ2 3 cheers for the MiL :T she should be kicking her son to do it IMHO! but anyway its another job less for you at the moment. have you had any luck with finding ways of making enough to stay there? What about a lodger?
cally difficult dilemma - if he didnt get the finance etc and didnt go to uni next year what would he do - could you stand him being under your feet?????? That would be the consequence of your inaction I think:rotfl:
voiceofreason well done to you and good to hear you are getting order restored.
H I'm with Dusty and Pigpen on this one - boys probably dont get the significance of it - maybe you could get the corsage in reserve and then get him to pay for it?

shopping was done this morning and I even managed to get time in the library - was disappointed though as none of the books i wanted were available so came away with nothing!!! I really dont need books to read but I did want to get a couple by the same author i read last saturday as I really enjoyed - will keep looking and I wanted something on scrapbooking but they were all out too.

lunch has been scoffed so now to put rest of shopping away first.
    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

My 10 minutes a day on the oven... I think I have spent over 2 hours soaking and scrubbing the racks and still have 1 to do. I also spent 10 minutes scrubbing the bottom of the oven, not fully clean yet but there is only so much scrubbing I can do before the dirt gives up, I just hope it is sooner rather than later.

Now the bath is free of those I can get round to cleaning it.
