In both my case and my mothers case the second Sygma card we were approved for carried a lower APR than the first so it may be worth applying for another in six months time if the JJB card comes with 24.9% APR.

You can then make up your mind whether to keep / close the new / old one depending on what rate and limit they give you second time around.

Well done on the approval mate! I think you're the first other discharged bankrupt I've seen around here to get a Sygma card. Shows it can be done with the right approach.

    Happy days

Wheeee - I received my Silvercard today - £1000 limit at 24.9% APR - not too bad - not as good as the Santander Zero I just received (£1500 limit @ 18.9% APR) but better than the Barclaycard Initial (£800 limit @ 29.9% APR) I just received :)

All are better than my "old" CapitalOne card (£1000 limit @ 34.08% APR) and the Vanquis card is just horrific in comparison (£3000 limit @ approximately 55% APR!)

Anyway - I applied in the evening of the 1st - instant acceptance online and card arrived today - not bad - 7 day turnaround :)

Good luck to everyone else applying :)

  • A word about Sygma (Flybe)....

My OH got a Flybe card with £1000 limit last week. He made a balance transfer to Vanquis for £700 to clear that.

Today, he got a text from Sygma stating that he is over his limit and needs to call them asap.

He phoned them up and it turns out that they have processed the transfer TWICE and now has a balance of £1400! Despite admitting their error, they are trying to charge him £30 for being over limit. They have said they will reverse one of the transfers but it can take 7 days(!). He's spoken to 4 agents over 3 calls today trying to sort this out, and every one of them has requested that he should pay £400 plus now to bring his account back under the limit, each agent saying "even though its not his fault".

    This is not good!
Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.

Its not a problem, just complain and they'll reverse it, you cannot be charged for their errors/ ;)
