Complete dry food for a Carnivore? I sure wouldn't like to eat only biscuits all my life.

I feed mine Raw food which is a Carnivores natural diet. Their poo is firm and does not smell at all. No runny or soft smelly poos.

    Naturesdiet is also good.

If a cat if being fussy over what you feed it then take it away until the next day. I can guarantee that they will eat it then. An animal will not starve itself and will eat anything when hungry.

Do they do naturediet for cats? I thought it was only for dogs

Ours prefer raw meat, Alvey loves chicken wings and Ricki loves beef mince.

They're also liking the Feline Fayre pouches from Morrisons atm. :)
  • Mine love junk food. I had them on bozita for the longest time because I always refused to pander and put new food out if they didn't eat. Every now and again they would get a pouch of felix AGAIL as my OH's mums cat is somewhat fussy and we would get the cast off.

Since charley's diabetes though he has got really fussy and its totally my fault. When he was being kept in orginally (he had a bout of pancreatis [sp]) he wasn't eating at all so I took a pouch in as I know he loves it and sure enough he was eating again. He ate that for the rest of the time and when he got back and we started his insulin and put him back on bozita he refused it and knowing he needs his food we changed it, the other cats seeing how well charley's emotional blackmail worked refused to eat. When it didn't work for them there were fights over the one bowl of felix so in the end I gave up. I have felix cats now!

I've tried loads of the expensive brands but had no luck. Just got to accept that mine are felix cats and always will be!

My Charlie is exactly the same! Have tried him on so many different foods, expensive and the cheaper varieties, and with ALL of them he would lick the gravy/jelly off and leave the meat. Felix however, he gobbles down the whole bowl within minutes! Although, even with Felix it has to be the "as good as it looks" range and not just the normal Felix!! Fussy little so and so!! :rotfl:

Vets normally sell wet AND dry, certainly every Vet's i've ever been to sell Hill's wet & dry. They normally also only sell Hill's or RC, not because they're better though. A dry diet isn't natural for Cats, they are desert animals & get their water from what they eat, if on wet they won't drink much they get all they need from their food.
Also, dry can cause problems with teeth too, depends which dry. My Cat used to have only dry then ended up with Cystitis, if she only gets dry it comes back. She now has half wet & half dry, best of both worlds!

The only foods she refused were Natures Harvest, Butcher's Classic, one or two of Kit e kat's flavours. She's not too fussy!

Actually it's a myth. Dry food isn't any better than wet food for teeth.
