I was told as a new customer they no longer issue CGC so more confused now! I thought with a full current account ie: comes with cheque book it was a proper Visa Debit?

Was told on by telephone banking yesterday that this A&L will be getting replaced by a Santander card in the near future!

Cheque Guarantee Scheme will end next June, so there's no point in the banks issuing new CGC cards. You will still get a chequebook and a debit card and it will be a proper Visa Debit. You just can't guarantee cheques with it.

Oh yes on a till receipt isn't there something called the 'aid' number and you can tell with that what type of Visa debit you have?

Yes, if it is 000032010 then it is a Visa Debit card if it is 0000321010 then it is a Visa Electron card (don't know any other identifiers other than those two.)
Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.

I've got a regular debit card with £100 cheque guarantee from Lloyds TSB. You seem to have the wrong idea about my credit history!

This is why people like never-in-doubt and seeya left here. Less of this attitude and more actual advice is needed on here.

If needs be ignore each other and dont post responses to each other.

Thats my opinion and thats the end of it.

I say no more on this matter
