Has anyone managed to get a MBNA credit card with adverse data for example a default?

Having been informed by MBNA that my application for BMI Amex CC is approved with £4K CL, and 16.9%, i then discovered by post with card today that it is 24.9% after promotional rate on letter!! No wonder why i am fuming!!

I said AFTER promotional rate mate!!
Basically got approved for BMI Amex CC for 4K CL 0% promotional rate on balance transfer and money transfer for 12 months.

But APR is 24.9% once the promotional rate expires and not 16.9%! Spoke to an underwriter who approved my application after a referral online and he confirmed the 16.9%.

    whoops sorry lol:)
surely if you were told 16.9% then this is what you should get, i used to have a standard mbna card and closed it after they started changing the rates for everything. basically there were 4 different rates- a cash, balance transfer, money transfer, standard purchase rate=very confusing!

plus i started on a flat rate 6.9% and ended up on a 34.9%

Well well, i have heard stories from people who said that MBNA (who is the issuing lender) sometimes tell customers fibs and once they got the card, the APR have gone up by 5-10% . I think had the underwriter told me its going to be 24.9%, i would have said not interested bye. It is dishonest practice and this is my first ever application to MBNA. Oh well, i will take advantage of the promotional rate for a year and then bin the card!!
