quick update on nationwide soft search. it gave me quote of £1200 limit at 19.9% but as it says no CCJs in card criteria and I have one that's due to expire in sept 2012. I was just interested in seeing what it came up with. has anyone on here with a current CCJ actually been accepted for one of nationwides cards?

I think a small percentage of Santander's customer base complain on these boards - a large percentage seem pretty happy.
I used to have a Santander Mastercard, it was previously a GE Money Mastercard that was sold on to Santander Cards with the GE Money portfolio of credit and store cards. I had a number of other credit cards - Egg, Barclaycard, Mint, Smile - but only Santander made basic and persistant mistakes on my account. For example - 4 credit transactions not added to my account, statements not received 3 months running, late statements, appallingly unhelpful and rude Indian call centre, a customer helpline that constantly cuts off and stutters (despite charging 10p per min!), customer services number on statement only open 9-5 Mon-Fri, the list goes on. I have now paid this and all my other credit cards off now thank goodness though and will shortly repay a loan which is my only remaining debt :j But will never, ever use Santander again and don't recommend them to anyone as I've never experienced such bad service!!

I tend to think it's the vocal minority.

people are quick to speak up when something is wrong but not so quick when everything is running fine.

Thats because you expect everything to work fine. You should expect good service etc.. by default. That is the norm. Hence why complaints are more vocal than good (read default) experiences

Quick update on my journey back to normality!

    - BR April 2008
    - Discharged April 2009
    - IPA completed Jun 2011
..everything on file shows as it should

    Credit lines:
    - Three 24 month contract
    - Capital One CC £1400 limit
    - Flybe CC £1500 limit

Everything paid in full each month, all greens on the file since the cleanup ..just a Barclays basic account

I've been approved for Creation Purchases card (0% for 9 months) with £5k limit (same groups as Flybe card aren't they?).

So I've now got nearly £8k available credit but still no 'real' current account - madness!

    Excellent, good work Foolishboy!

Glad to see someone doing well after BR.

Have you applied for a full current a/c lately?

Lloyds TSB / Halifax can be sympathetic to ex-BRs - as your order is 3+ years old you could be on to a winner. Couldn't hurt to have a bash.

    Good luck! :o

I tried for Halifax a few months back .. big fat no. They were a creditor though so I'm probably still on their system somewhere. Lloyds are clean for me though .. didn't know they were adverse friendly, I'll give them a go!

Hmm... Well, good luck! HSBC accepted me with BR on my credit file but they have become more stringent now.

Prior to LTSB, when did you last apply for a full account and with who? If you don't mind my asking...

I applied for HSBC and Halifax around my 3 year BR anniversary so around April this year.

..to be honest I'm not even that bothered about the full account any more - Barclays does all I need and I don't want/need an OD.

I got declined. I got gold barclaycard a couple of weeks ago and just thought i'd see what happened if I applied for progress. I haven't got a classic card but I did have one that defaulted around 9 years ago. paid off around 7 years ago. I got referred then declined. they must still have account history for me or don't like that I just the barclaycard
