    Cheers Pal

Sygma offered me 6 months interest free if I re-opened my Silver account but TBH I would rather leave it closed. Don't need or want it :o

Nice to know that if I do decide to go back they'll give me a deal.

Halved my HSBC O/D, too. Don't need or want that, either. Capital One !!!!ed me off by charging interest even though I pay in full. Closed that, too. So I'm credit-card-less at the moment but I have my loan keeping my credit history ticking over.

My current target is repaying that Zopa loan ASAP. Saving #250/PCM into my HSBC regular saver and 150/PCM into an N&P regular saver at the moment and will clear the Zopa loan when they mature.

Then it's 250 / Month into each one saving up for the deposit on a house. Should be a home owner within three years at this rate. Happy days

(Yes, technically I would save interest if I overpay Zopa instead of subscribing to a regular saver but their system seems to deduct any overpayment I make from the following months payment. Kinda pointless, that)

Yeah seems like you have got everything under control,as I said to you last time I wanted rid of my flybe, but since barclaycard have messed me about with a balance transfer they will soon have to fly the nest.

Hey iZools, why don't you save all of that spare money you have and offer to repay those debts included within your bankruptcy...? You must feel great gloating in your sig about being a bankrupt and then being such a financial genius now....?

I don't feel great really no and I am not gloating, but reassuring fellows in a similar position that I was in that there is light at the end of the tunnel and no need to totally give up hope. What's wrong with helping others realise that they can use their prior mistakes and resultant legal proceedings as a learning experience and a springboard to a brighter tomorrow? Or do those that find themselves in a sticky situation not deserve hope in their lives?

I contributed every spare penny for 36 months after BR via an IPA as per the law stipulates. Also, as per the law, I am not allowed to offer payments directly to the creditors concerned. I have to liaise with the Official Receiver, who, under the law, has no claim to my money any more so wouldn't be able to accept any unless he were to sidestep the law. Besides which, the vast majority of the creditors concerned no longer have a record of my being a customer of theirs let alone any way to accept payments towards the accounts.

Mistakes were made and reparation was made as the law dictates.

Perhaps your argument is with those who write the law?

Sygma "can't" turn off paper statements, that's useful... not! Tempted to close them as they don't seem to be dishing out new cards and I've managed my existing one fine - might just get rid as saying I've got 4 cards is causing instant declines without a credit search (Tesco), before they would've at least scored me! I don't particularly want my statements ending up at random places either so if they're going to leave me on £200 it might be better getting rid.

Aqua don't seem very helpful regarding turning paper statements off either, they just ignore me! At least Natpest and Cap1 let you turn them on and off yourself! Was tempted to close Aqua, I've always found their customer service appalling, but that would be shooting myself in the foot as they're the only ones with a decent limit!

...coming up to 3 years since BR so time to do some more re-building I thought.

Declared BR April 2008, discharged April 2009.
Credit files are as clean as they can be, all accounts showing satisfied / partially satisfied.
I have a Cap One card w/£400 limit, a Three mobile broadband 30 day contract and a Three mobile 30 day contract. All current credit lines are paid up to day and showing greens on the files.

I applied for a Barclaycard Initial today and got turned down flat, is there something specific that'll cause that? Still a bit too soon? All bar one of my defaults are >3 years old now. Barclays were a creditor so could it be that?

Good news is that Flybe approved me instantly with a £1500 limit so that has to be good news on the credit front. Are you allowed multiple Sygma cards? If so should I wait a while before applying for another?

    Cheers!

Barclays probably saw that you had difficulties with them in the past and declined for this reason. Anyway Barclaycard can shove their Initial card where the sun don't shine, you have a new shiney Flybe credit card now. Them declining you is a blessing in disguise as you may have not applied for the Flybe if you had been accepted. :T

lol ... I kind of agree, but I like the contactless technology the BC has. Anyhoo, will leave them be until files are squeaky I think :)
