Snoopy - Sygma Bank credit cards can be sympathetic to people on their way out of sub prime like yourself - they gave my mother three credit cards whilst she had a barclaycard in an arrangement to pay and have been known to also approve discharged bankrupts.

Do a google for Sygma Silver MasterCard and apply, from the sounds of things you're in with a pretty good chance of approval.

    .

Thanks for the advice izools - i applied but unfortunately they rejected me (and helpfully provided a link to Vanquis....!). Never mind, I will keep plugging away at them and hopefully in 6 months time things will look a little different - I would like to think I could have cleared at least one of the balances, and two of the defaults will have fallen off my file by then too.

Do Sygma have a facility to challenge the decision? I have copies of my Experian file every 3 months for the last 2 years, which show how things have changed. I also have payslips and statements I can send to to prove i'm in a reasonable financial position - just a thought, but if anyone has any experience of this i would be interested to hear?

    Thanks guys!

Mate if you have payslips and statements which show you are in a more financial position, don't bother sending these off to sygma, best thing would to apply for a decent mainstream lender who have good offers, then if your turned down send your statements and that to them instead..

no send to sygma as you have already had a search registered by them.

No point wasting another search is there.

Wrong why send his proof to sygma, when it would be better to try push a mainstream lender to give him a card with his proof, don't matter if the OP waste a search on another lender as he is sending his proof in anyhow, then hopefully if they give him a card he is not going to give a sh*t if he has 100 searches on his file as these count as nothing in 6 months and gone from your report in a year!!!

no mainstream lender would lend to them with a defualt if sygma wont.

Plus you dont know the reason for decline.

Hence its better to send to sygma in the 1st place and then maybe attempt a new application depending on the result of their response.

You seem to have a hatred for Sygma which tbh is not helpful when trying to advise others.

Advise not belittle everyone for their choices that you dont approve of. Infact dont bother posting here if thats the attitute you have towards everyone

My apolagies I should of read the OP's full post as I didn't realize he had defaults, which yes sygma would be the right choice.

Has anyone ordered more than their credit limit with Next? Just wondered what would happen if I order something that exceeds my credit limit.. would they cancel the order or increase the limit to allow me to order?

Being as Next YoYo's their credit limits constantly, might as well overorder before they knock it down LOL

Knowing Next, it's likely they would cancel the order rather than increase!

I've never experienced their famous yoyo credit limits yet. I've had the account for 7 months or so and it has always remained at £300 until just today where it was raised to £1000. I think their product range is quite limited although they do decent clothes.

    That's unfortunate, bad luck :(

The two defaults you have - are they settled or still outstanding?

Having spoken to a Sygma underwriter in the past they were happy to accept and approve an appeal in the case of a friend of mine as the defaults were settled - probably not the case if they are still outstanding.

No matter, not long to go until they drop off your credit file.

How is the rest of your credit file? When did you last miss a payment on something? How many credit applications have you made in the last six months?

Unfortunately Sygma are the most lax "mainstream" lender I've come across so there's not really much point in applying elsewhere if Sygma said no.

Certainly worth appealing though; as you say you have plenty of positive information to counter the defaults. Good luck, let us know how you get on :o
