I'd much prefer to pay interest on Next than buy "interest free" from Very.

Compare a product that both Next and Very sell, and you'll see just how much Very is overcharging so in the long run, you could be much cheaper paying interest.

    That depends on the product.

I would much rather do the buy now pay next year, as I can stick it on a lower interest credit card if it hasn't been totally paid off by the time they want payment.

When you're talking about expensive electrical products, this often works out better.

Next want around 26% APR. Very don't want any until the buy now pay next year ends, when they will charge the full amount of interest until you've paid it off by then (calculated from the date you purchased it).

It is obviously your own responsibility to work out which is the cheaper option, if you have the choice of both catalogues ;)

For example, my dSLR which I purchased from Very, was £50 cheaper with them than Next. I will hopefully be able to pay it off before the offer ends, but if not I won't be paying much interest if I put it on my credit card.

Sygma are a mainstream card. There APR's reflect it.

Capital One (Credit builder card), Vanquis and Aqua are sub prime card issuers, Sygma aren't sub prime.
