Well I'll give them six months and if it's still there I'll pop along to Halifax.

You're right though, it beggars belief.

I think the address to write to is:

    Lloyds TSB
    Personal Lending Decisions
    3rd Floor
    Victory House
    Trafalgar Place
    Brighton
    BN1 4FY

And how do I know this? I was given it by online banking just now when trying to increase my OD by £50 just to see if they've done what they said they did.

And they haven't. CPD marker still there. Retards.

OMG what are they playing at? I thought they took it off and you could have a Platium account and a £1000 OD. So it must of gone back on.

    Haha that's well good :)

Just counting time until I can mosey on over to Halifax now. Then as soon as BR drops off completely, it'll be HSBC.

Well on one screen it says I'm eligible for a Platinum account, 3-in-1 debit card, and £1,600 overdraft, but on the other it says I have a CPD.

Makes about as much sense as a condom machine in the Vatican.

    Makes no odds.

I opened my LTSB account in January 2009, after they recommended their Gold account to me. Upon application it declined the Gold account but offered Silver, which I took (and subsequently downgraded a few months later). Was told at the time to wait 6 months and "run the account well" and all should be good for an upgrade.

In that time, the balance has always been in 4 figures, no charges, DD's and SO's come out regularly and my salary is credited, but no, there is a CPD marker on the account which is preventing me from running my account in any other way than a basic cash account.

Their answer last time I was in branch 3 months ago was to "obtain and manage credit with them and they'd review"... well Einstein, how do I do that with a CPD marker.... Jeez!

Is there a complaints procedure for this? I don't even know what the big deal is... I didn't want the interest free OD or CGC anyway, so why is it scored in that way?!?

My mere suggestion at the time that I'd take my business elsewhere was greeted with indifference, and even a hint of delight....

I've never known a bank to refuse money off a customer before. It beggars belief...

You should get a personal banker to ring lending up and appeal.

I recently opened a Silver account, regretting it now tbh. I'm sticking with HSBC.

    Tos*ers!!

Apply at HSBC, see what they say. I've got one. They searched both Equifax and Experian. I have 2 satisfied defaults on Experian and 1 on Equifax.

    Worth a try!!

I've got a discharged Bankruptcy on my Experian file (doesn't show up on EQ but HSBC search both).

HSBC turned me away a few months ago due to "Adverse" data. I'll have to wait a couple more years before I can get a proper account from them.

I really CBA with speaking to them about it any more. They've made it abundantly clear that they're more interested in guesswork and supposition than actually informing me of cold hard facts.

I'll stay with them until March at which point my BR will be 36 months old so I'll be eligible for a Halifax Reward account. And then LTSB can have the two finger salute!

HSBC will go back the full 6yrs matey - as adverse will appear they perform a full check. I had the same.

You may be better waiting then apply at HSBC when your file is clear for the whole last 3yrs...... you say the BR is discharged, from when? :D

That answers my last question, so in April next year when the BR is 3+ yrs old then go into HSBC branch and apply, you will be accepted so long as you stop applying for things and give them no reason to perform a check beyond 3yrs.....

sorted matey -- April 2011 it is then, and you'll be in "Our Gang" :rotfl:

    BR 03/08 discharged 03/09.

Shows satisfied on all files, done the whole post bankruptcy clean up... which resulted in nearly £40,000 of defaults vanishing completely and Equifax snapping my credit file in two due to some address links disappearing :p

So I'll be waiting until April before I consider applying with Halifax anyway as their criteria state not been declared bankrupt / had CCJ / decree in last 36 months.

I don't think HSBC are going to want to consider me until the BR has dropped off altogether really. If only there was a high street bank that only search EQ.
